Wooow. We are struggling to find the words to write this review. It is an incredible place to stay on the beautiful south of Sri Lanka. The pictures don’t do it justice. If you’re looking for a calmer place to stay away from the noisy crowds of tourists, The Nook Resort won’t disappoint. We loved how genuine and personable the staff were. They were so welcoming. The Nook is beautifully created, every small detail is well designed, you can feel how much passion the owners put into it, its so clean and comfortable. The restaurant has amazing food all day. Thank you to the owner of The Nook for being so lovely and guiding us to hidden gems and recommending beautiful places. Thank you to all staff for being so friendly and helpful with great service. We would recommend this place to anyone. Stunning!

It all depends what you’re looking for, but I had a very nice stay here. The room was spacious and impeccable clean, as was the bathroom. It’s location is magnificent, right at the beachfront with the colorful fishing boats, it’s a stunning view from the balcony. The owners might be the nicest people I have met so far, they were so thoughtful of every little detail (when there was a power cut they provided candles, they drove me to the bus station, I received a coconut on arrival,…) They invited me for a wonderful home-cooked diner and taught me about their culture. If you’re looking for a beautiful quiet place or want to get in touch with local family, this is your place to be. The lighthouse is 15min walk and you can swim at the beach in front of the house. There was no warm water but it’s hot outside anyways so cold shower feels very refreshing. The breakfast was nice as well and they will check with you what you’d like.

It's a nice place with friendly people. They do their best to give you a comfy and home feeling. I'm the second guest, so they are still in the try-out period. And they do it well! The owner brought me to a place for the breakfast and he brought me to the busstation. It's allowed to use the kitchen. Enough equipement. A good big bed. Everywhere it is super clean! The vieuw from the house is great, ocean vieuw. Its a short walk to 2 beaches, 1 even in a few minutes. Short walk to the lighthouse, to the harbor and just 1 kilometre to the center with a beautiful temple. The owner's friend (Priyankara) will assist you after booking immediately. A wonderful place to stay. Beautiful house and the host Isuru is very friendly and has created some excellent guest suites. Breakfast and dinner was just delicious too. It was nice to have the kitchen area. We 100% recommend this as a great place to stay!

Wonderful location with a beautiful view from the top. Delicious food and so helpful and friendly staff. We travelled with 4 children including an infant and it was one of the best places we have stayed.

What a nice place close to the lighthouse. Definitely recommended: clean, lovely hosts, delicious rice&curry, close to the beach, next to a really nice juice bar perfect to chill all day long, within walking distance to town.

Upon arrival at Talalla Wonder View I was met by Darshani, the utterly adorable young woman who runs the establishment. Wonder View is a small, safe, family run establishment (just 2 rooms) that overlooks the beautiful crescent-shaped white sand beach. It is at the extreme southern end of the beach which is a lovely area. Wonder View has several thatched cabanas with comfy padded lounge chairs right on the beach where you can easily spend an afternoon or two or three. My room was small and basic but with everything I needed including an excellent mosquito net, fan, comfortable bed and an outlet to charge electronics. Between the fan and the slightly cooler nights, I slept well. The water pressure in the bathroom tended to ebb and flow but was fine for showering. There is no hot water if that is important to you, but you don’t really need it and personally I found the cool water refreshing. The rooms share a spacious terrace that overlooks the beach and it’s another great place to relax. Just don’t don’t leave any snacks unattended because there are monkeys that will pinch your food in a hot second! Breakfast, which was included, was provided at the family’s Tree Top restaurant next door. You will be served a substantial Sri Lankan-western meal that you can enjoy with a pot of tea or coffee while gazing out at the beach. Sweet! There are also other restaurants nearby for drinks and meals. Worth noting: the path to the beach and the steps up to the Tree Top Restaurant might be challenging for someone with mobility issues. A handrail on the path would help keep everyone safe. For the price, view, delightful host and beach access, Talalla Wonder View is fantastic value!
