We received a very warm welcome from our host with a welcome drink, which included the hosts own home made liquors. Our room was beautifully furnished and the breakfast is a feast for the eyes. Xantha is great for two reasons: the stunning view of the Pagasetic Gulf, the mountains and Volos; and the really wonderful lady who is now running the place (and who also speaks very good English). One should take into account that the road up is steep, narrow and at some places winding, not an easy one, and it's best to have a good engine, but it's well worth it for the view from your little balcony and the friendliness and generosity of the hostess: who not only invited me to eat as many of the ripe figs from the trees as I possibly could, but even paid my bill with the dinner delivery man (you can order food up) since I was in the shower!... As well as your own balcony, there's also a verandah off the drawing room with its own view of the Gulf, and the outside patio sitting area is especially nice. There's an open bar in the main drawing room of the hotel where you can make yourself herb tea from a varied selection, or of course coffee. So unless you would find the drive up difficult, Xantha is very highly recommended!

Charis the host is amazing, very nice and kind! It was worth the stay to get to know her.
The guesthouse itself is clean and beautiful although there's no AC in the room (there is a nice ventilator but for very hot days it might not be enough).

We really like the location and the view from our balcony which looked the port of Patitiri. Really nicely designed rooms, especially we liked a roof fan in our room that saved us from the heat and we didn’t have to use the air conditioner we don’t prefer in general. Everything was great! The room was really cozy and with amazing view. The beds were so good that it was hard to get up in the morning. Every person we met in the facilities was utterly helpful and polite. The breakfast was amazing with homemade goods everyday. Finally the location was ideal.
