The villa and location exceeded our expectations! The elevated setting is private with plentiful outside space and areas for relaxing and dining. We chose the villa's location as we wanted a garden with trees, plants, shrubs, and flowers - the well-kept garden and good-sized swimming pool didn't disappoint. The contemporarily designed interior was spacious, well-equipped, and very clean. Communication with owner Dimitris was excellent, and his team looking after the property, (Maria & Dimitris), were extremely helpful and considerate, (Gardener Dimitris went above and beyond in helping us with our hire car wheel.) There are eateries / small grocery shops within walking distance, and it is a ten-minute drive to Gouves which has a beautiful beach, supermarkets, eateries etc.

Jean's Cottage is simply lovely. It's a little haven from the hectic nightmare that is daily life. Jean is a great host - there if you need her, leaves you in peace if you don't.

I thoroughly enjoyed the exceptional hospitality extended by our gracious landlords, who were incredibly helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The house was thoughtfully equipped with all the essential amenities, and to our delight, the fridge was stocked with refreshing cold water bottles and sodas, ensuring our comfort from the very first days.

The location is amazing, with its beautiful mountains and sea view. Sitting by the pool or at the outdoors dining area, surrounded by that scenery, was for me the definition of a relaxing vacation. As for the rooms, they were very spacious with big bathrooms that felt very luxurious. But above all else, what I liked most about this hotel was the staff. My fiancée and I had a problem with the car and the rental company during our stay, which would’ve definitely ruined our trip had we stayed somewhere else. But the staff was very kind and helpful, especially Anna, Maria and Veronica. They were empathetic and very kind, and helped sort things out with the rental company, while reassuring us that everything will be all right. They put us at ease when we needed it most, and after it all got sorted out, they gave us some great information on some scenic road trips and beautiful beaches that really made this a perfect and memorable vacation.

An amazing stay for Easter. Everything was marvelous. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the food was extraordinary, the spa was great. The indoor pool temperature was ideal for swimming. The Easter lunch with live music was a wonderful surprise. This is our favourite hotel in Crete and we will definitely return. The woman at the reception was very enthusiastic about everything we asked her. The fact that this hotel offers a vast collection of films on DVDs makes this place special and unique. We loved the fact that we could get tennis equipment from the reception and play tennis one afternoon.

The location of the residence is a 10 min drive from the coastal town of Gouves with a nice sandy beach. So you’re also really close to a more commercial type of vacationing, if you’re into that sort of experience, and at the same time the secluded village you’re staying at gives you a pristine Crete experience. The owner Maria and her family are really kind and helpful, she helped us with guidance and accomodation even if we came very late. The neighbors are super nice, however you still have privacy in aboundance. The villa is fully furnished and really thoughtfully equipped with anything you might need during your stay. We really enjoyed the breathtaking view of the sea and the hills full of olive orchards, it trully is heaven on Earth. And on a more practical note - the location in the hills makes the residence almost mosquitoes free and there’s always a nice breeze blowing so you don’t feel the heat so much. All in all - a really pleasant stay, also as a culinary experience sice there are a few good Greek tavernas in the near vicinity and also Maria’s husband cooked us a delicious Greek lunch just out of kindness. Hosts are really nice people and the place is amazing. We highly recommend it, just don’t book it fully so we can visit again. :)
