Very warm welcome from staff. The room was spacious, warm and very comfortable with quality bedding and pillows. Very good shower, great cooked breakfast, with choices, and free parking. Nice and quiet, away from the main towns, supermarket and fuel across the road. Central access to island sights. Highly recommend.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Cottiscarth Cottages. Robbie and Eileen were incredibly welcoming and accommodating of our travel plans, and the location of the cottage is stunning! The cottage is large, roomy and proved to be very sturdy during gale force winds. Despite 6 inches of snow we were able to get out of the driveway. The host thought of everything.

Thorvald is a cottage that has been tastefully and thoughtfully renovated with all the facilities you could need, as well as a great outdoor space to relax in. While there is a local shop nearby, it is only a 10 minute drive to Kirkwall, Orkney's capital. On arrival, it was to lovely to see some local produce left by Rhona and Dwayne to welcome us as well as a folder full of useful information about the area!

Great central location, easy to access all roads to see all the attractions & just up road from Kirkwall for groceries. Fantastic self catering apartment for 2 people with everything you needed. Seperate bedroom gave additional quiet space. The kitchenette had everything you needed, dining table/chairs & comfortable lounge chairs. Heating was fantastic when needed. Glass doors gave access to nice view across water all from the cozy comfort of the apartment. Lovely hamper was provided also. All the comforts of home, could have stayed there longer. Highly recommend this place to stay.
