The staff at The Royal couldn't do enough for us. They ensured that our stay was nothing less than excellent. We were a group of 4 friends placed in 2 rooms in the old stable conversion, it was fantastic! The rooms were spotless and comfortable, the bed and the shower were lovely, we were also given a variety of cereals. In the hallway was a fridge with milk, orange juice and yoghurts and on the top of this was a great big basket of fruit, all complimentary of course. We will definitely be back again, thank you Lily and your team ❤️

Great breakfast and a warm welcome with our hosts. Who made time to give us ideas about what to do locally before catching the Heys ham ferry. An excellent stop off point for M6 north or South too.

Room was very clean and comfortable. More like a mini suite. Bed large and very comfortable. Had snacks and drinks in the bar. All very good quality and reasonably priced. Loved the location, lovely to walk along the canal before breakfast.
great quiet location close to the waterway, very clean and well maintained with super restaurant - staff were very polite, helpful and welcoming and even upgraded our room as we were celebrating a special anniversary
Peace and quiet. Beautiful location. The cottage was lovely. Very clean. The owners were really helpful. And only 9 minutes away from the City centre. Lovely walks with the dogs. Just what we wanted.
We chose the location as we wanted a place we had not visited before on the way to the Lakes. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. A lovely location on the canal for easy strolls. All the staff were cheerful and friendly. The meal is n the restaurant was delicious, both the beef and the lamb dishes. A nice breakfast too.
Great location, scenery, price, food, drinks, and especially friendly and helpful staff.
There was a mixup with my booking.com room reservation, but the staff sorted it out and I ended up with a very nice room with a nicer view, and it was slightly cheaper.
Great location by the canal. Staff all really friendly and helpful. The room was much bigger than I expected and very clean. Bed sooooo comfortable. Loads of hot water and the heating was super efficient. Not the huge variety of foods for breakfast, but plenty for anyone. Cooked breakfast huge and very well cooked. Would certainly go back there if I am in the area again!
