Staff were superb. Really friendly and welcoming. We greatly enjoyed the garden tour and the Michelin star dinner. We came mainly for the gardens and were not let down.

The size of this place is so impressive and yet oddly doesn't feel too big for two people. It has a superb layout with great characteristic features. Amazing kitchen with a nice big oven. The upstairs lounge is very relaxing. The WiFi worked fine but the welcome book needs updating though, as the WiFi information is not current.
Typically we got good old UK weather (plenty of rain), which turned the rear garden into a muddy pond. This sadly stopped us from using the hot tub, as the ground was so wet. Had the weather been better we would have definitely used it.

Everything was perfect - well equipped, clean, cosy and in beautiful surroundings. Caroline, our host bent over backwards to ensure everything went smoothly with our one night stay, which was required for attending a wedding nearby.

Stayed with Rosemary several times, including for 2023 New Years Eve. I'm shocked at the affordable price for such a luxurious property. The view of the South Downs from the garden is one of the best views of Sussex I've ever seen. I travelled by Metrobus 270 (hourly, except Sundays) to Chelmwood Gate then it's a 5 min walk to the property through a forest. Lodge is excellent modern quality, very quiet and well stocked with breakfast foods and DVDs. Rosemary is a 10/10 host.

"The Hideaway" is an excellent name for this quiet and secluded location on the edge of Ashdown Forest. The studio flat arrangement is ideal for a couple on a short "getaway". A generous amount of food was provided for traditional and/or continental breakfast.
