This property is an absolute gem! It is one of our all time favorite stays. Our hosts met us after a long, hot day on our touring bicycles with cold juice and a very warm welcome. We arrived on a very busy bank holiday weekend but Pepita immediately was able to secure us dinner reservations. The house has been renovated with such charm and comfort that we immediately fell in love. The rooms were well appointed and the beds were amazing. After a very comfortable nights stay we were feasted with the best breakfast ever including fresh fruits and juices, yogurts, croissants, an assortment of fresh breads, eggs, bacon, and of course, excellent coffee. If I could give this stay a rating of 11 I would!

Best: the hosting - I've been traveling continuously for over 2 years now, and Marie-Claire is hands down the best host I've met. Made for this business! Warm and outgoing, helpful, delightful to get to know; she really extended herself to us to make sure all went well. Pierre and Patrick were very friendly and helpful. Despite us arriving late, we were greeted with coffee. We enjoyed breakfast especially the homemade jam, and their company - felt more like visiting friends than paying guests. The bed was very comfortable, the room had an ensuite, although there was no tea and coffee in the room, Pierre and Patrick made us coffee in the lounge. They also helped us by booking dinner in a local restaurant. We were able to explore the abbey which was beautifully appointed and the grounds surrounding it - their lounge was full of beautiful, antique furniture, and art work. The stay was very comfortable and relaxed, and a much nicer experience than staying in a big hotel chain. We will definitely come back and stay in the future, and would recommend it to everyone.
