This is a place like no other I've been to before. It is first of all a place that connects you to the history of the region and mostly the story and life of its people. We slept in what used to be a laundry room for the families of miners who lived in Cité des Électriciens. The contrast between the calm and comfort of our beautiful accommodation and the harsh lives of the people around here in the past was striking (and not lost on us!).
Everyone we talked to was very friendly and helpful as well.

One of our favorite features was the charming courtyard. It was a delightful space to unwind and enjoy some leisure activities, including a game of pétanque.
Additionally, the property offers complimentary bike loans, complete with helmets, allowing visitors to explore the beautiful surroundings with ease and convenience.
The locally made apple juice, marmalade and honey offered with breakfasts were fantastic and showed a real sense of community within the areas.

The property is located in the city centre, it is spacious and clean with all the facilities you need. The owner was very kind, we requested and early check in the day before and he did everything he could to make it happen. We had need and greet and he was extremely welcoming.
For those on a budget, these cheap and cheerful hotels still have a lot to offer, with most offering WiFi and convenient locations. Popular with backpackers, many properties can be found in central locations and include comfortable rooms with private or shared bathrooms. You’ll also find a number of options which feature a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.
Campanile Bethune is in an ideal location if you want a stop before the Eurotunnel. The secure parking and the availability of food on site is a big advantage.
Good location for a run to or from Eurotunnel in an hour. Basic but clean room. Cracked sink, but it held water. Food good value and tasted good, but beer on tap expensive €7+.
Host spoke English. No restaurant on Sundays. Quiet location. Safe for our motorbikes, so far. Third visit, so ideal for a one night stop.
