Rabé de las Calzadas

Great value for money. Extremely clean. We were there very late because of the traffic. Even though the kitchen was closed, they still wanted to make food for us after our long trip. The breakfast was cheap and nice as well. The location was easy to find and parking is also easy.

A little gem a few kilometres outside of Burgos. An old building rebuilt and upkept with love and care. Super experience at a small price. Highly recommended. Just one example: The windows are soundproof, there are shutters to close out the light completely if desired, equipped with fly screens! and if that's not enough, the fly screen can be opened so the window is completely unobstructed. Just simply thought through and done well just like so many other things there. Very high quality rest for a budget. And you'll meet people from all over walking to Santiago de Compostela on the famous path. If you don't need to be "in town" go there, you won't regret it.
Buniel (Near Rabé de las Calzadas)

The hotel is conveniently located on our route to Bilbao, the dogs were welcome and inexpensive to add to the hotel bill (€5 each), the food and drinks were reasonably priced and the staff welcoming. Thanks guys for a super stopover.

Although it is very basic I was sooo happy to enter this room. To have a private little bathroom. The room has everything you need. A bed, closet, desk, chair, window, clean bathroom with amazing hot shower that I needed in winter. Enough blankets to keep me warm at night. Super happy and satisfied! Will come back again. Oh and free parking space around the hostel.

Because of the heat we arrived early, but were allowed to sit in the garden and cool down. We had a lovely room and could wash our clothes and hang them outside, meanwhile chatting with other pilgrims under the veranda outside. Next morning we had a tastefull breakfast. The owner takes care of this place (and the pilgrims) with love and passion and that is what the whole experience of staying in this accommodation gave us. We continued our Way as happy pilgrims.

Angie, the hostess was amazing. Super organized, friendly and efficient. She and her mom made a huge paella dinner for the whole albergue. They took care of all of us soo well. I heard that a guest didn't receive her bag from Burgos and her mom brought it for her. So kind.

Staff speak decent English so easier to communicate, nice little garden, and clean rooms with socket and lamp for each bed. WiFi is strong on the common room. Paella for dinner was delicious

Shower was excellent & a sponge was provided. It was such fun with multiple water jets that I showered morning & evening! I managed to find a parking spot in the slip-road right outside the hotel, so I was refunded what I had paid for underground parking. Of all the places I stayed in during my travels across France. Italy & Spain, this was my favourite: super value for money, not isolated, friendly staff, easy to find, and a restaurant & patisserie close by! Purr..fect!
