The Wheeler on the Bay Lodge is a surprisingly perfect location. I was expecting a motel and got a small resort, quiet, serene, beautifully located next to the marina. The rooms are big compared to what you normally get at a motel, very clean (as in VERY), well equipped with functioning appliances. My room had a small deck in the back which was a really nice place to just rest a bit and take in the scenery. They have a dock and you can apparently rent canoes to move around the Nehalem River (which I didn't do), get on a boat for some fishing and while I was having my coffee early in the morning I could see some lucky anglers pull sizeable fish from the river. Bonus points: there is an excellent restaurant right next door, the Salmonberry. Great food you probably wouldn't expect in a place like Wheeler with "al fresco" right on the banks of the Nehalem. Spectacular.

The Hosts are amazing and the hospitality was great. The horses are so beautiful, love that we got to feed the chickens and the views are immaculate. Guests can make use of a garden. Excellent customer service. Our reserved cabin had unfortunately been left with dog-stink from the folks before us, mixed with a plethora of cleaning solution scent by the cleaners trying to get the dog stink out. I was informed about this potential issue when checking in and given the option to be relocated to a different unit. In the end, we took them up on that offer due to dog-allergies and we were moved to a larger unit at no extra charge. The host/manager was prompt and accommodating, did some serious juggling to get everything sorted out. The cabin was very comfortable and we appreciated the inclusion of a washer & dryer and functional kitchen so we could save funds not eating out every meal, a family of 6, for 3 days. Highly recommend these cabins!

Large Screen TV and excellent internet. Quiet area yet very close to old town center. We stayed here both ways when we did a 2 week trip from the Pacific Northwest to California. Parking is adjacent and covenient.

There is a fully equipped private bathroom with bath or shower and free toiletries. The hosts were super nice and accommodating. The property is gorgeous and quiet. We left early in the morning and didn’t get a chance to say thank you.
