First of all, the owners are the sweetest people who Take a Lot of Care of the property. The House is stunningly beautiful und they pour all of their Love into it. We came from a tented Safari and Loved the heated blankets in the bed to warm Up during the night. Take the breakfast because the Love and Care doesnt Stop. We were a group of four and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the Main House but got a glimpse of the Chalets for Families and omg they were spectacular!!! We enjoyed every minute of our stay!
The staff were friendly and made us feel right at home. They went out of their way to cater to our dietary requirements- all the food at breakfast and dinner was delicious!
The game drive was lovely and thanks to the keen eye of our guide we saw many beautiful animals.
The beds were comfortable, the showers were hot - perfect after a day of exploring. The lodge is close to the Cango Caves and the Swartberg Pass so ideally situated for sightseeing in the area.
For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

Cango Retreat Ou Tol is perfectly situated in a valley surrounded by mountains and close to the Cango Caves, as well as Wilgewangel, where you can find a playground of things to do with your family. Our cottage had everything we needed to make our stay special, even a little playground for the kids. Love that the chalets and cottages are situated on the bank of a river, so pack a little fishing rod and enjoy the best place to stay in Oudtshoorn.
Breathe Accommodation is the perfect stay if you’re looking for a solitary getaway. The cabin was clean and well equipped for two people. My partner and I had a lovely time walking on the farm, seeing the lambs, bird watching and making cosy fires inside and outside. The owners are lovely and make you feel very at home. It’s about an hour from Oudtshoorn, so perfect for a day trip to the Cango Caves or just into town.
Beautiful log chalets, exceptional breakfast and staff. Victor specifically was accommodating and friendly. A very kind person.
And spekbome awesome, complete farm stunning.
The most friendly staff that went the extra mile and were so attentive. The glamping style cabin is so cozy you feel right at home. The views are also so amazing. I definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Oudtshoorn.
Zwartberg Mountain view is an amazing place! Wonderful owners; very friendly and gave us very useful tips. The terrace is absolutely astonishing. Having a drink by the fireplace overlooking the animals and of course, Melvin. My children adored the place! Very clean and spacious lodge (we stayed in the Kudu Chalet). Would recommend!
We stayed in one of the beautiful cabins, with a view of the river. The cabin was very big and comfortable, with a nice fireplace, veranda comfortable beds and bathroom . It was self contained with good facilities, but we did make use of the breakfast (for a very reasonable fee), which was fantastic! The hosts and staff were delightful.
Had a great stay in the family cabin. Albert and Elza are wonderful hosts. They have thought of everything. It was an absolute treat staying here. Location is fantastic, with gorgeous views. The cabin was beautifully decorated, beds were warm and comfy. Huge fireplace with plenty of firewood provided. So much to see in the local area, Albert gave us great recommendations. Will definitely be back.
