An excellent location: easy to get to the beach and ti anywhere on the island, 3 mins away from the supermarket, lovely main street to walk through that leads onto the dam and the birdwatching lookout.
The lawn at the back of the property is an added bonus: kids loved running around, you can also see horses grazing on the field (separated by the hedge, so totally safe).
Well-provided kitchen (even with a dishwasher!) was very handy as the local restaurant prices are rather steep!
The owners initially communicate only in Dutch, but don't be frightened by this, they can also reply in English if you write back in English.
Set in the south of Texel, right next to National Park Duinen, Camping Loodsmansduin offers an outdoor swimming pool and self-catering accommodations. The North Sea beach is 2.5 km away.

Site was organized and well laid out. Facilities were well equipped and our children loved the playground / pool areas.
Featuring a patio with inner courtyard views, a garden and barbecue facilities, Beachhouses Texel can be found in De Koog, close to De Koog Beach and 2.5 km from De Cocksdorp.
For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
The location is interesting in that it adjoins a small airfield where there are pleasure flights and parachutists to watch while you quaff a beverage from either the restaurant terrace or the balcony - noise is not a problem. De Cocksdorp town is a short distance away, with the 'capital' Den Burg only a little further, and access to the beach at Paal 28 is close too. The room was actually a very spacious apartment, very well appointed and I thought the jacuzzi bath and the Bose sound system were a nice touch.
Room was very quiet and comfortable, hotel facilities were exceptional (we particularly enjoyed having drinks by the fireplace), staff were very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was just fabulous so we ate there both nights
