Fantastic place, would go back in a heartbeat! The place blends perfectly with the nature and at the same time you have all the luxuries you need. we stayed at the treehouse and cannot recommend it more, we loved it. It's obviously an indoor-outdoor vibe, you hear the animals all night long, but what better way to experience the nature. The room is super spacious, the bed have protection against insects. The bathroom was a dream, again the indoor-outdoor vibe was wonderful! The food was delicious and the service fantastic. It's a 5min walk to start of the Pidurangala rock, and if you like a good walk also relatively close to Lion's rock (can also rent a bike, we forgot to do it)

The stay was great. Hosts were always there to help out with anything and everything that we needed. From transfers, to restaurant and sightseeing recommendations to late night beer (to avoid elephant encounters on the path to the main street 😊).

We had the treehouse and it had breathtaking views of Lion Rock & the other rock (forgot the name). It was such a novelty!
Nandana, the manager was such a legend. He sorted any issue we had and was extremely hospitable :) we miss him already!
Meals were very LARGE - Sri Lankans certainly make big portion sizes.
Oh, and the fact we could use bikes to pedal into town - fantastic idea :)
For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
Kumara and his wife took really good care of us. Their place really is hidden in a lovely garden, with a nice pattio and hammocks under palm trees.
The most special thing about this place is the food: it is organic and local (from the garden or the neighbours). Everyday you can try something else. The hosts offer cooking classes in a traditional mud hut.
Additionaly Kumara showed us a lot of places: Rigitale Mountain, Sigiriya, Dambulla, but also some batik, jewelry and spice shops.
The place was surrounded by the jungle. The atmosphere was calm and quiet. The chalet and the main buildings were built to give an authentic Sri Lankan village home feeling. The prices were very low.
We loved having breakfast and dinner in the little hut with amazing views over the lake. The food was great and nicely prepared by the lovely hosts. The room was very clean and spacious and great value for money. Defintely recommended!
Wild hut is a great place to stay. The host Indika and his family are very friendly hosts.
The room is comfortable with air-con which was much needed! Indika sorted out a safari to Hurulu the local eco park for us and also drove us to Sigiriya in his tuk tuk. Great value stay and close to the train station. Would definitely recommend. Thank you Indika.

Great value accommodation. We were welcomed with cold juice by a very delighful couple who were anxious to please. It was not a problem for them to give us early check in. Exceptionally clean, new rooms (2) with crisp white sheets, cold air-conditioning, and filtered water. The raised hut looking over the lake was lovely to rest in and watch the birds. Food was delicious and great value. Our included breakfast was plentiful and varied. We highly recommend!
My reception was a little mixed, seemed like there was a bit of confusion when I arrived. That said, once they cleared that up, they were great. The property is in a beautiful location on a lake and you're treated to some amazing sunsets & bird watching. My room was actually a cabin on the lake, so that was amazing. It also had an outdoor (but private) shower that was wonderful. Bed was comfortable and slept really well.
Fun location with wooden huts / ‘tree houses’ in the forest. The pool is beautiful and the food is delicious and varied. Super helpful manager and staff. Great location for visiting the cultural triangle - and they can arrange transport to all the sites. We loved it.
We had an absolutely amazing time at this place and regretted we couldn't stay any longer. We immediately felt very welcome by the owner and his very friendly staff. The wooden huts are really nice and are surrounded in a beautiful natural environment. Can't wait to come back to see the swimmingpool finished
