Beautiful remote holiday home in the hills of Pizzorne. Isolated enough to feel freeing but close enough to Lucca/Pisa for convenient travel. All the modcons included.

I had a wonderful stay during my time at the River Idyll cottage. The owner met me to give me the keys and show me around the property, and had provided food for breakfasts that lasted me for four days.
Boasting quiet street views, Lo Chalet dell'Artista provides accommodation with free bikes, a garden and barbecue facilities, around 16 km from Pisa Cathedral.

The location was quiet and very close to the Puccini Museum and Theatre, which was the main reason for our visit to Torre Del Largo. It's 10 minutes from the station and approx 45 minutes walk to the beach. The property itself was very clean and comfortable and the association with the artist Serfino Beconi was a big plus for us (even the gate is a work of art). The host, Ilaria was very friendly and helpful, even though we never met, and provided all the information we needed.
Located in Pisa, 4.2 km from Leaning Tower of Pisa and 4.6 km from Piazza dei Miracoli, Nonna Lori's Chalet Pisa zona stazione e Aeroporto offers a garden and air conditioning.

Fantastic hillside cabin/home above Calci. The views are amazing. Watching the sunrise burn off the clouds trapped in the valley, as the sun slowly lights up the other side of the mountains is a memory I won’t soon forget. The house appears hand built, and built with real care and quality. The artistic touches throughout the house, like the rope light fixtures, were a great addition, and show the owner’s attention to detail. Driving up to the house is a bit of an adventure, but well worth the effort.
Luigi, the owner, was beyond gracious, and his sincerity and helpfulness was much appreciated. The best comment I can make is that I will be back.

House finished with high quality materials. Surrounded by beautiful nature with a view of the Apuan Alps, including Pania della Croce. The view from the small window of one of the bathrooms resembles Van Gogh's painting "Cypresses". We baked 9 delicious pizzas in a traditional stone pizza oven located next to the house. Many thanks to the host, who showed us places where you can swim and what to visit in the area.
For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
This is a worthwhile property, with a number of attractive aspects. Overall, we would pick out the excellent breakfast offered, with both an internal or external setting. The breakfast room also offered some standing items (drinks, food etc) that were worthwhile and helpful. The rooms were spacious, and comfortable. There was an issue with the bathroom (it may have had a small shower cabinet?), but overall the room was satisfactory, or better than that. I would recommend the property, but look at the next box
200m from train station - perfect - and close to the town Traditional style bendy shutters which helped keep the room cool. Good breakfast choices and service. Helpful staff. Quiet and clean. More traditional style bathroom and rooms.
We really enjoyed our stay. Fabulous staff and breakfast. Wonderful apartment and pool. Our only issue is we had hoped we could order an evening meal on at least one of our 3 nights. Unfortunately they were only providing dinner on Saturday nights. On Monday and Tuesday we had to self cater as we were there with a baby and the local restaurant was shut. Real shame.
The room was clean, tidy, and basic. Ensuite modern. Electric shutter windows helped shut out outside noise. Breakfast was a lovely spread of bread, ham, cheese, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, cereal, juice, water, and coffee made for you.
I loved the stay, the bed was comfy, the shutters made the room dark for sleep, the accommodation was super clean and fresh towels were provided with a nice bathroom. The room was also spacious. I also loved the location, it was a 20 minute straight walk to the main town and there are local cafes for great coffee and croissants a few minutes walk away with the locals. Marilena was so sweet and lovely to communicate with, she went above and beyond to help me and made my Italian stay extra special!
Beautiful apartment. Right across the road from the train station, and close totoen centre. Super convenient yet quiet. Comfortable bed and good ameneties. I nice little view from the loungeroom window also. Lovely staff, they even picked me up and shuttled me to the apartment from prior accomodatuon in Lucca. Highly recommend.
The location close to Piazza dell'Anfiteatro was amazing, with several very good restaurants close by - the one we visited on the night of our stay was recommended in the room guide and met all expectations. The rooms are set around a courtyard and you can use the gardens to relax or eat in. The rooms have a charm with tiled floors and shutters and our bed was so comfortable.
Planning a return for a longer stay in the very near future!
Great quirky place just outside Lucca's city walls, cool thick walled atmosphere mixed with an extatic collection of ornaments in all shades, sizes and colors (especially gold paint!)
Free parking on doorstep, quiet neighbourhood, large rooms, creaky wooden doors and shutters and a modern bathroom
