New Forest Lodges, hotel in Salisbury

Located in Cranborne, New Forest Lodges provides accommodation with a TV. All units include a fully equipped kitchen, allowing guests to prepare their own meals. The lodge offers a barbecue.

Myself, friend & her dog stayed at the lodge. We didn’t travel anywhere, it was perfect. We just wanted complete rest & relaxation away from people & everyday life. It was wonderful! Being disabled, the lodge was excellent. Shower seat provided & everything that was needed was available. The hot tub was the best I’ve had. Stepping down into the hot tub was ideal. We had a grocery delivery upon our arrival with ready meals (something we don’t normally have at home) No proper cooking needed which was bliss. We had a takeaway one night, delivery time was only 20 minutes! A fabulous stay. We shall definitely be returning.

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

The staff were very accommodating and provided a shuttle taxi in the evening (even though it wasn’t a long walk to the centre). The driver also went that extra mile (no pun intended) and waited as we checked out a menu before recommending the perfect restaurant.

Great breakfast. Staff very friendly and attentive. Although we didn't use it, the shuttle service to the city centre was potentially useful (we enjoyed the walk).

Friendly and helpful staff. Our room was clean, more spacious than expected and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was modern. The location is quiet but Salisbury is accessible by foot or shuttle bus. We had a lovely view of the garden from our private terrace. Free parking was a bonus.

Staff were very good, especially the breakfast staff. Check in staff were lack lustre with very limited information being pro-offered. Late night custodian kindly provided drinks on our return from town. The free shuttle into town was a nice touch, but personally didn't make up for the fact that I couldn't have dinner in my hotel.

Lovely quiet hotel with stunning views across the water meadows to the Cathedral. Easy access to the town via public service bus or mini bus shuttle in the evenings. Hotel does not provide restaurant service except for breakfast - however free shuttle into the centre where there are plenty of good restaurants.

Having on-site EV charging facilities is a great "plus" for this area, where most of medieval Salisbury is lit by gas-lamps, the conservative club is where you go to find a husband and The Motor Car is regarded as a modern fad, which probably won't catch on. The Hotel runs a free of charge shuttle into the centre of town, driven by the most lovely Lady, with compendious local knowledge and the sweetest nature - you'll want to just take her home. Well I always do, anyway.
