MacDonald Cabins, hotel in Kinlochleven

MacDonald Cabins offers pet-friendly accommodation in Kinlochleven. Guests benefit from free WiFi and private parking available on site. Other facilities at MacDonald Cabins include a terrace.

The cabins were in the best location - it was so quiet and peaceful and had great views . Young man who helped us was very friendly and helpful. Cabins are comfortable enough, and we enjoyed the decking area for relaxing after days of hiking. Good value for money overall, if the few negatives mentioned above were fixed, it would make the good experience more enjoyable. All things considered, these are small things, and we wouldn't hesitate to come back.

The lodge was wonderful. Plenty of space to park. The view from the living room showed Ben Nevis so clearly and there were seats outside to enjoy. The lodge itself was very clean, comfortable and had everything you could need. The hostess was lovely, she came down to see us in and chatted to us about local spots. Definitely stay here again. Good location for all local walks, landmarks and attractions. The access to the canal was a minute walk from the lodge and is lovely to walk down.

Looking for a cabin?
For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

The location was stunning. The view amazing. The cabin was so comfortable it was hard to leave. The bed was fantastic, there were coffee and tea making facilities and a heater for the cold damp nights. The hosts were fabulous and helpful. We ate in the hotel attached and the food was delicious with a warm welcome.

The location is stunning, and the food they provide is always high standard. The chalets have the feel of camping with the facilities of a hotel, beds, kettle, communal kitchen with cooming facilities etc, shower rooms and toilets.

It is a beautiful, picturesque place that you can't describe its charm. Situated just next to a bar with great food, it is a nice place for either a base for hillwalking or just relaxing. Bear in mind, it is a small cabin just for a night of sleep.

It was very dirty and a shambles. In the toilets for the cabins, tiles were missing. Inside, the taps were broken and barely working. No hand towels either. The separate showers were better, but both doors into the them were broken, and one didn't shut at all. The entrance to the hotel was very untidy, and there were detritus littered all over the place. The staff were good but overwhelmed with it all. It wasn't a great advertisement for all the people from abroad walking the West Highland Way.

The cabin had a funny smell to it which I expect from a wooden cabin but it didn't smell clean. Weren't allowed to make fires outside so can't do that at night if you are looking to. Not much of a view from the cabins either they are all close to each other and hidden by trees.
