Amazing find this lodge! Booked for a quiet weekend away to celebrate our engagement and it did not let us down! The lodge has been designed so thoughtfully and with keen eye for details. All the kitchen, bathroom and living necessities all included with special extras like treats for us and doggos!! The weather was awful this weekend, so after a quick walk round Brimham Rocks, the lodge was warm and cozy place to curl up and watch TV! Hosts were highly attentive and couldn't have asked for a better weekend away!

Very tidy top quality lodge. Very comfy bed. 2 nice pubs round the corner (get the cheese board in the half moon) and a 5/10 minute walk to the viaduct so very central.

The campground with a balcony and garden views has 2 bedrooms, a living room, a flat-screen TV, an equipped kitchen with an oven and a microwave, and 1 bathroom with a shower. Towels and bed linen are offered in the campground. There is also a seating area and a fireplace.

The lodge was absolutely spotless on arrival, there was a lovely welcome basket filled with lots of nice things. The location of the lodge was fantastic, just a short walk to the riverside cafe which is a beautiful spot for breakfast. It is also only about a 20 minute walk to and from Knaresborough centre, we were there 3 nights and didn't need to use the car once. There was plenty of space inside the lodge, the living area is really large, we had two extra guests for one night and it didn't feel cramped at all with four adults. We all really loved it and would highly recommend to anyone. We would definitely go back again 👍

Looking for a cabin?

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

The cabin was well placed for us in Harrogate and very convenient. The bed was comfortable, and there were great curtains to block out the light in the mornings! The owners had provided tea, coffee, milk and biscuits which was a lovely thought. Perfect for a single person, but maybe not a couple.

Room was very cold, had to ask for an electric heater as the windows woudn't shut properly and letting lots of wind in. Still had to sleep in my jumper. The staff member looked un interested and said people have moaned before about it

Nice cosy room in the loft! Friendly staff on arrival. Good parking and they allowed us to park a little longer after our stay which was kind of them. The building is a lovely old building, but had good double glazing to shut off any outside noise. Overall, we had a nice stay and would more than likely return in the future.

We loved the location and decor of the shepherds hut. The hosts communication was superb including getting to feed the cows and goats. The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and the cakes especially were amazing (we even drove to get some direct from the bakery). They had made a huge effort to deal with the massive amount of recent rain and try keep the mud at bay and even still warned us that bringing wellies would be a good idea but their measures meant they weren't an absolute necessity.

Reception and breakfast staff all friendly and efficient. Housekeeping staff great. Bathroom clean and the beds were comfortable. Room though large, starting to show its age and in need of a makeover. Some loose wallpaper, condensation on inside of sash windows (unable to open to ventilate - appear to have been painted shut). Plenty of onsite parking, 5 minute downhill walk to shops (not the main shopping area). Breakfast very good, and public rooms comfortable.

The hotel is a stunning building, full of character. Rooms are very clean with good attention to detail, e.g. with wooden shutters and blackout-lined curtains. Good quality, powerful shower. Very comfortable bed with good quality bed linen. Lovely breakfast
