Beautiful, clean accommodation with so much thought given to all the finishing touches. We love wartime nostalgia and vintage pieces and the Allotment shed had it in spades. We loved the inspiration for the decor coming from memories of a childhood spent with her Grandparents. Joanna was a very kind, thoughtful host. Starting with a WhatsApp video directing us to the accommodation we then arrived to find a breakfast basket, orange juice, milk, a selection of herbal teas, coffee, decaffeinated coffee, hot chocolate.... all tastes catered for. Any messages sent to Joanna were swiftly replied to.
The Allotment shed is in the heart of Long Melford, walkable to all local shops, pubs and restaurants. Lovely Lavenham is a very short drive, or bus trip away.
We were celebrating our Silver Wedding Anniversary and Joanna went to the trouble of leaving a card and some lovely chocolates.
I would recommend the Melford Valley Tandoori for a cracking Indian meal and the local bakery served delicious sausage rolls.

Clean, lovely picturesque and calming location, very comfortable bed! Snacks including fresh bread left which was absolutely lovely (thank you!). Loads of grass and space for the dog to run around. Also really cool to see some of the military planes overhead. Thank you for a lovely stay :)

The Owlhoot Annexe is by far the best accommodation we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. We have stayed in many places around the world. Helena and Tony are excellent hosts, nothing is too much trouble and the place is simply outstanding. We will stay there again.

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
We loved staying in the log cabin .it was lovely and clean .we had air con and central heating if needed. WiFi was very good. The food at the hotel was excellent amazing breakfast especially the scrambled egg. Great steak dinner. The garden was well kept .
Great hotel
Only checked in late and kitchen was shut but the staff looked after me well the man Sammy from Turkey made sure I was fed with a nice steak and chips even after the chef had cleaned the kitchen.
Staff were pleasant and food was fab. The bed was huge and comfy. We booked a chalet so it would be quiet, which it was. Apart from the motor on the chemical toilet which went off every 15/20 minutes for 5 seconds and was very noisy. It would have been handy if it coupled be turned off overnight. Otherwise it was a nice hotel and I would go again but stay in the main building
Comfortable bed in a quiet and spacious room. Interesting interior decor looking like a huge wood cabin. Kind people working there. Beautiful greenery around hotel eliminates noise from a busy road.
This is the second time of staying at this venue and this time we booked one of the outside log cabins which was a much better experience than last time when we stayed in the main hotel. The cabin was clean and well presented with much more space and with it's own air conditioning it was lovely. As my partner has mobility issues this was an absolute godsend in not having to cope with stairs. Again, staff were few and far between but when I did manage to find someone they were helpful and friendly.
