Spacious and quiet cottage directly on the Pielinen lake. A big house with kitchen, sauna and various bedrooms, an aditional sauna house, a BBQ house etc. gave us more opportunity to spend time here than we ever could use.

The property is a nice functional house with kids space on first floor and a large bedroom (with optional second) on the first floor. It’s cosy, kitchen and bathroom were well equipped. The house is close from the lake, with a boat.

Best possible location to really relax. Water from the well tasted good, no need to buy it in a store. Different wild animals roam the forrest and also the premises of the mökki, like quails, (something that looked like) a badger, cuckoos, woodpeckers, and some deer.

We spent a few days at Koli Freetime and enjoyed every single moment. The location is so peaceful, the staff was very friendly. The cottage is perfect for a family of four. We also loved the small sauna cottage with access to the lake for ice bathing. The cross country track starts directly at the property. Temperatures were really low (-31 degrees Celsius in the morning) but the cottage was warm and cozy. Big thanks for providing providing country skis for our grandson free of charge.
We can absolutely recommend the place if you love the peacefulness of the Finnish nature.
For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. The owner drove a 400k round trip to do maintenance even though there we're only 2 people on site, me in a cabin and a caravan. Comfy cabin and tidy facilities
We stayed in a cabin which was very well equiped and super clean. It was warm and located next to a beautiful lake. It makes for a good base for Koli park and the lakes.
The view across the frozen lake was fabulous and we loved the sauna hut and living room area on the shore. Staying in the Aurora hut at this time of year felt like being part of a futuristic arctic expedition. It was warm and comfortable inside. The toilet was an interesting experience that required alcohol before use; you will need to be comfortable with your travel companion!

The chalet was difficult to find, but we were lucky to meet the owner: she told us kindly how to reach the chalet.
However, we had a very good stay.
AuroraHut was compact enough for two people. The short rowing trip to the accommodation brought a sense of peace and was a fun addition to the transition to the accommodation. Little terrace with deckchairs was nice, it was great for taking a dip in the morning for a swim. I think the level of equipment was sufficient, you could enjoy breakfast on your own sunny terrace.
The cabin was very spacious, clean and nicely renovated. The location was suberb. Really beautifull lake side and really easy to get to and visit the Koli center.
