For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.
Wonderful hostel! Very cozy! Well designed with care. The host is an amazing person, he gave us the sticks in place of lost ones, turned on the fireplace to dry our shoes and heating in the room to dry the clothes. We would live to come back again!
The hotel was outside the main city and was ideal for us wanting an early start on the camino. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms are at the back of the property making it very quiet. The room was big and bathroom ideal with fresh clean linen and towels. We had plenty of space to put our luggage and the shutters kept out the light and provided some much needed hours of darkness. Breakfast was served early to accommodate the early departing pilgrims.
Spotlessly clean. Really liked the cabin style beds which had curtains for privacy. Had a nice bar next door which isn't shown on the photos or description.
I failed to let the staff know my expected time of arrival so when I arrived the hostel was shut. The barman at the bar down the street rang up for me and a young lady came to welcome me although she was a cleaner not the receptionist. Excellent place to stay whilst on Caminho. I missed finding the boot room (my fault again). The location is great in the centre of town and a great tapas bar. The hostel has a combination lock so it was easy to access.
Worse hotel I’ve ever stayed in ( I’m 59 years old ) - broken toilet ,hairdryer and window shutter -( window faced onto another bathroom with slightly opaque glass ( could see silhouette of naked person drying himself ) dark ,dreary rooms with stained red carpet.-Needed to get into room but was told there was only 1 key to room ( husband had gone out with same , not realising this !)-
The fan kept the room to a good temperature. The lockers under the beds were large and shut quietly. The private bathroom was clean and the shower was excellent.
The kitchen is well stocked and the whole hostel is cleaned well every day. The centre of Pontevedra is very close. There is a great supermarket just a few minutes walk away and also a nice sushi restaurant.
Stylish hostel with friendly hosts and relaxed atmosphere. Loved the old building with pretty shutters and courtyard plus more contemporary decor and furniture. Great location walkable to everywhere we wanted to visit in Pontevedra. We also got some great food recommendations!
