Villavieja
At the capsule hotel, each room includes a balcony. The rooms are fitted with a private bathroom with free toiletries, while selected rooms also boast a patio and others also feature garden views. At Avani del desierto the rooms have a seating area. This place is hosted by a lovely couple who know the region by heart and give great tips on what to visit. They organise tours to visit the valley and offer a great breakfast. The rooms are super clean and have all the comfort you need. It was a great experience staying here.
The owner and staff were really friendly and warm. Overall it felt like a very family-run, chilled and laid back place. Cold water only in the shower, but that was expected and the weather is hot anyways. Very good value for money overall.
The owner doesn’t speak English but he’s super friendly and helps you with whatever you need. (With Google translate you come a long way.) We did our laundry there which was super cheap (I reckon only like 20k). The rooms were nice, big and clean and the hostel is like a 2 minute walk from the centre. You get a ‘good morning coffee’ every morning. :)
Cheap price and a pool to cool down, friendly staff.
Comfortable hotel, nice breakfast very quiet (that makes a change!), helpful staff, recommendation to use Schneider as a guide to the Tatacoa worth it. Pretty easy to do the 2 parts of Tatacoa yourself but Schneider added lots of value by way of his knowledge. Villevieja is as noisy as it gets so don't stay inside the town unless you are deaf and on a tight budget. Cosmos is just outside the noise blast zone and very conveniently on road to Tatacoa, but an easy walk into town.
Excellent hotel conveniently located. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. There were many facilities at the hotel, such as bar, restaurant, etc.
The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. We felt relly taken care of. The place itself is very nice, a lot of plants, flowers and birds. Very close to the observatory and you can walk to the red desert. Food is simple but cheap and good (+vegetarian option).
The hostel has a fun, unique layout, with multiple levels and spaces for hanging out. WiFi was really good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is close to the middle of town. Hot water worked well. Nice to have beds that aren't bunk beds, with plenty of space in the room.
The views are amazing! There is a small river flowing through the hostel and a net to sit to view the mountains. There is an equipped kitchen and lots of places to sit inside and outside. The rooms are really good, dorms had private shower and bathroom that were the best we'd been to in a long time! They have tours and information at the front desk (we found them cheaper somewhere else but it's convenient for others)
