Looking for a capsule hotel?

Developed in Japan, these cheap 'pod' hotels are a novelty for any traveller. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodation is basic and intended to be overnight. There is separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms — some capsule hotels also have a sentō, a Japanese bath house, often for male guests only.

Conveniently located in Fisherman's Wharf but (too) quiet at night. Extensive breakfast with many many choices. Don't be scared of the line-up; it moves fast and staff are friendly and helpful at getting your party seated.

Location close to 5th and Mission was very convenient for my purposes. Also, very close to Powell St. station for BART and Metro. Room was spacious and clean with a safe and refrigerator. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Location is great, super convenient. Staff is friendly and helpful. They have 2 parking lots (limited spots), which is extremely helpful if you're going to SF by car. I found the price for a bed in a mixed 4-bunk beds bedroom quite fine.

Barely acceptable budget level 2 star accomodation. It's an old travel lodge and a bit worn, but the price certainly helps make up for it. Location is excellent if you're using public transport, we used the streetcar and there's convenient stops within a very short walk on Market. Staff were friendly enough.

Super convenient location and affordable price are the only pros. Better than a bunk bed in a shared room in the hostel, so will do for a couple of nights if you are young, on a very tight budget and NOT a light sleeper.

Bunk beds are great: not shaky even the top one) and équipes with USB and regular power sockets as well as a small shelf (Very convenient to put glasses, phone and other small valuables when sleeping). Great kitchen, living room, lobby. Great location. Staff helpful and friendly. Built-in laundry with good Quality machines and cheap prices. 10/10 recommend

Very clean, convenient location. We were surprised that this hotel had everything we needed: coin-operated laundry, coffee station with cold and hot water (available 24 hours), vending machines. The staff was very friendly and nice.

Location is convenient for the train station, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. They helped with luggage storage for the day too. It was a cheap stay for a layover. It was nice to have my own sink so I only had to use the shared toilet.
