Looking for a capsule hotel?

Developed in Japan, these cheap “pod” hotels are a novelty for any traveler. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodations are basic and intended to be overnight. There's separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms. Some capsule hotels also have a sentō – a Japanese bath house, usually for male guests only.

I have stayed here three times already, and this is the best hotel in my opinion! The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the location is excellent, and the parking is safe, convenient, and reasonably priced! Coming here has added so much to my Chicago trip, even the bathroom amenities are perfect! I love this place, and if I come to Chicago again, I will definitely choose to stay here!

Low budget. The bunk beds were nice and felt private in a shared dorm. One member of staff, I can’t recall his name, was kind and remembered my name which felt personal.

Friendly front desk staff ( not that you have much interaction). Was cheap in terms of what I could have paid - but way over priced for what I got. Clean (though very tatty and I guess with no one coming in and out of rooms would have benefitted from bin emptying etc). I guess the going rate is high and this was a good deal in that climate but disappointing.

Location, cleanliness, friendly staff, excellent wifi speed, good variety of breakfast and a privacy curtain! The best HI USA so far. Better than LA Santa monica and SF downtown. Good job guys!

Location worked well for us. It was convenient for public transport, the lake shore, museums and good restaurants. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful.

Staff friendly and helpful, room well equipped, like the bathroom soap, shampoo, lotion facility, location very convenient, bed comfortable, but they still haven't fixed the 'frame sticks out and bashes your knee if you get too close' problem which has been constant for many years!

Solid overall for a cheap price both private and shared rooms. Friendly staff, great location, and generally very good facilities, plus a nice albeit pricey bar.

Beautiful situated and close to trams and the lake. Friendly staff and vibrant feel. But also bit worn down. Beds are to soft and uncomfy. It was more a budget family place than a hostel with a lot of small children. Not a bad thing but not really what we were expecting. Breakfast was humble but can get you on your way. No real healthy options. But there is a community kitchen and fridge to store some cheese or other things for breakkie Chicago is expensive and this place was on the cheaper side so you cant expect golden halls
