Developed in Japan, these cheap 'pod' hotels are a novelty for any traveller. With rows of small single bed enclosed capsules, accommodation is basic and intended to be overnight. There is separate storage for luggage and gender-separate communal bathrooms — some capsule hotels also have a sentō, a Japanese bath house, often for male guests only.
Our stay at this wooden chalet was simply magical.
It has a great deck where we were able to sit in the afternoons watching the sunset and the birds flying around.
The hosts were nice and friendly!! We received a basket full of veggies and eggs from the farm! It was great!
