Enjoy the great outdoors at a campground or rv park. Sleep under the stars in a cabin or bungalow, pre-mounted tent, RV or caravan. Communal kitchens, bathrooms and recreational facilities are available, and most campsites will have a reception desk.
It was an excellent stay. The location is very convenient for exploring Nikko and the inn has amazing river views. The room was spacious, modern and very clean. The best part about our overnight stay was the owners - really warm, friendly and welcoming, gave us great information on places to see. Overall it was a highlight of our trip, much better than any hotels. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and will be coming back to this inn on our next trip to Japan.
The host was very nice and spoke good English, she gave us a lot of advice about places to visit and where to eat, she even gave us information about local events and a map. If somethong was needed, she responded quickly. The flat was very clean and spacious, there was coffee/tea in the kitchen and some interesting books about the city and the area. We felt like at home!
Great location just next to the station, easy to get there and to get around in Nikko.

Service was excellent. I actually forgot a pair of glasses there and they were so sweet to send it to my next location in Japan. Had them 24 hours later.
This was very close to Kinugawa Onsen station and also a convenience store. We had 2 rooms with a shared toilet for our family of 4. It was small which meant little floor room for suitcases but the price was excellent so I think that was worth it. However there were onsen nearby that the hotel recommended for us. This was wonderful!!
The lodge is in a nice quiet wooded location. It gives you a kind of a camping outdoors feeling. The common room is great with comfy sofas and plenty tables. Staff is also very friendly and can speak Japanese and English very well . ....and definitely order the chicken Adobo when it's available. ♥️
My friend and I had the most amazing time at Stay house Arai. Our room was very clean, comfortable and cozy.
Mariko was an incredibly nice host, gave us a lot of information on how to get around Nikko and great recommendations on things to do and places to eat. She also surprised us with an amazing breakfast and some super cute little charms and origami as gifts. The only downside: we ended up regretting only staying for two nights! Would definitely book again.
