We enjoyed our stay in the desert close to nature and the hut was nice for stargazing. Be aware that you will be on a digital detox as the reception is depending on the provider you use and there isn't any wifi.
The food was awesome and the personnel was very friendly. They made us feel very welcome and made a great effort to communicate with us despite our little spanish. We booked a trip to the desert through them and had a great day with a knowledgeable guide who tried his best to speak slowly and in easy spanish so we could learn a lot about de desert - would absolutely recommend it.We also booked a transfer with them back to Neiva and Alejandro gave us some local foods to taste which were great😃

The meals by Lina are incredible!! Lina is so kind and welcoming. The cabin was simple but really nice, comfortable bed and always a good temperature. The animals around the farm are super cute. It’s far from villavieja, but definitely worth the trip as it’s super close to the grey desert and being remote gives you a great feeling of the desert

The family cooked us a great breakfast and dinner (I'm sure you could have lunch if you wanted it) everyday for a reasonable price. Beautiful hostel with lovely, clean facilities. Perfect for an escape to surreal surroundings, away from people. 1hr walk to the grey desert, would recommend. We walked to the grey desert (there's a little bar about half way) then spent the day there in the natural swimming pool. Our hostel organised horse riding from the hostel, a visit to the astronomy auditorium at night and a tuk-tuk to take us to the red desert and then back down to the village.

Nice location, very lovely cabins, comfortable beds and located quietly.
Enjoy the great outdoors at a campground or rv park. Sleep under the stars in a cabin or bungalow, pre-mounted tent, RV or caravan. Communal kitchens, bathrooms and recreational facilities are available, and most campsites will have a reception desk.
The owners of the hostal are very kind and friendly. They prepared breakfast for us at 5:30 o'clock just because we wanted to leave at 6:00 in the desert. It was very clean in the rooms and in the bathrooms.
The hostel is in a great location close to the main square of Villavieja. Everything necessary is very close. The rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. Also there is a nice patio which is great to to relax and spent some time in the hamacs. Also sandra, the landlady is very attentive and nice.
Absolutely stunning desert campsite! Really cool accommodation in the middle of the desert, the garden was beautiful and the natural pool was perfect in the desert heat. Really enjoyed the eco friendly attitude of the hotel, they clearly care a lot about the environment and the nature and animals around this place. Rooms were awesome, we were staying in a skybed and it was a super unique experience.
The room was very clean. The staff, Esperanza and her colleague, were very accommodating. They prepared us a nice salad for breakfast as we are vegan. They offered us ice cubes so we could drink cold water. They even apologized for the noise caused by somebody's late check-in. The swimming pool is a plus in Villavieja's hot weather. They offer good value tours (with or without guide) to the Desierto de Tatacoa. The restaurant they recommended (Sal si puedes) was very good.
Very friendly owner Sara! She can help you arrange a moto to the desert attractions at a very good price! Bathrooms and rooms are very clean. It is a basic place perfect for backpackers. The room just had a fan but temperatures drop at night so comfortable enough.
Can have breakfast for just 10K COP, there are many options!
The family that run Casa de Campo were so friendly and attentive. They made it very easy to gain information about getting to the desert and arranged affordable transport to the grey desert and Villavieja for us. It was walkable to the red desert and a short walk to the observatory. The lunch was tasty and they catered for me as a vegetarian. We would absolutely recommend this - it is decorated beautifully, very clean and there are lots of areas to relax and hammocks to chill in after your hike. They have lovely pets too!
Great location, lovely owner who was very helpful with tours to the desert and info about town. Free filtered water is a nice touch, especially in the desert. Bedrooms and bathrooms were very clean.
Super nice glamping, the owner is great and the staff is super friendly. We booked an airport pickup and desert tours with the hotel and everything was easy and fun, the guide is very knowledgeable. The food is also very good.
