We have just had the most amazing 2 night stay at yala wild Beach huts. The owner and the team are lovely. The tents/huts are new and super comfy beds in a really quite unspoilt location. Very close to the entrance to yala national park. The food has been amazing with endless amounts of it too much food for us to eat you will never go hungry. We were offered tea and coffee and bottles of water all the time and when we went to yala and the temple tour we were given fruit, coffee, biscuits and chocolate milk for the kids. We opted to stay for 2 nights and we were glad we did as it gave us time to go on a second jeep trip to the temples and see more elephants outside the national park. Along with crocodiles and monkeys. Our driver was great and really enjoyed all the trips even going for a last minute beach trip and over the sand dunes. He went out of his way to try and find lepards for us. Roy our guide was incredible a great character who clearly loves his job and nature and his knowledge of sri lankan history is brilliant and very enjoyable to listen to. Along with morning nature walk around the camp We all agreed that this has been our favourite place in Sri Lanka on our trip and I would highly recommend a 2 night visit or longer if you have time. Going to sleep and Walking up to the sound of the birds an nature was amazing. The owner has great plans for the future of yala wild huts and its alread great and will only improve furter there is an obvious passion and love for the area and nature and to give guests an amazing experience Thanks again for an amazing experience we could not be happier and will recommend to anyone we know who is travelling to sri lanka

Podi Hoona Luxury Bush Camp is a recently renovated luxury tent in Yala, where guests can make the most of its garden and terrace. When I booked there weren't a lot of reviews but all of the reviews were fantastic so I assumed that it was just newer and didn't have a lot of reviews. This was one of the only times that I felt let down by booking.com reviews. The staff at the place was very warm but there were more negatives about the property than positives.

Great place to stay in Yala for very reasonable prices with including Yala safari. The tents were very clean, spacious, and comfortable with amazing showers. They were able to seamlessly arrange our safari through Yala, where we saw elephants, water buffalo, monkeys, deer, and leopards. The food was absolutely incredible and the camping staff were great. This place definitely lived up to our expectations.

We really liked the Wild Lotus villa. The hosts were very welcoming and very helpful in arranging our safari. The food was very good and the kids loved the place. The kids were taught cricket, we went to see goats and chicks, swam at the beach and enjoy a wonderful sunset. Wonderful nature. We felt as if we had come to our own family. We had many meaningful conversations about life. We would definitely have liked to stay there longer. We miss you all! Greetings from Estonia

The staff here were so friendly and kind. The guy picked me up from the bus station which was very generous. He then took a group of us in the tuk tuk to see the pretty countryside and helped me book a safari tour with pick up from the hostel for a reasonable price. I had a double bed to myself with a mosquito net and slept out in the open next to the river. It was beautiful. It is off the beaten track but walking distance from the main road which holds a street market and shops/ restaurants.

The welcome smoothie was delicious, so was the fried rice made by them. The staff was super kind and they let us borrow bikes and packed breakfast to take away with us for the safari! The bed was very comfy and they provided a mosquito net. Bathroom was huge and amenities were given. The swimming pool area was awesome!

This felt more like a homestay than a hotel. The host welcomed us with fresh coconuts, tooks us on a lake tour at sunset, prepared us food for our safari and simply went above and beyond. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and they also had great showers.

I really enjoyed staying at the river side cabanas for two nights. The location is amazing, directly on the river, with nature around, but also close to bus stations. The dorm had 6 big double beds with mosquito nets and two bathrooms. Also the place to chill out with hammocks downstairs is nice. I’ve done the safari with them, where they also included a drive around the lakes the previous day and dropped me of close to the bus when I left, thank you for that! Lovely family taking care of all that and trying their best to fit all your needs 😄

Early Jan 2024 - very nice place, great value for money, nice communal spaces with hammocks, room very clean and comfortable. They were just reopening after a 1 year closure, pool was being refilled when we arrived. Great views all around, nice to be away from the bustle of other places. Good base for a yala safari. Very hot showers and nice bathroom. It is as good as it looks in the pictures, we would stay again definitely. Local Bat trees, standing stones and archaeological museum all 5 minutes away (by tuktuk).

The property was set in lovely grounds with a nice sized pool. Our room was spacious and cool with a big bathroom with an open ceiling, and we had a nice veranda to sit on for a drink at sunset. The restaurant served western and Sri Lankan food and accommodated my vegan meal requests. They arranged a morning safari for us which was great!
