For travellers who love being in nature with an added sense of luxury. Also called glamping, tented camps provide full or limited services, while surrounded by the wilderness. Typically in permanent or semi-permanent camps, these private tents/yurts are a great way to rough it while staying glamorous.
The view from the bedroom, the free shuttle service from the port (also in the evening to go and see the Torii by night), the free pick up and drop off of luggage to go sightseeing hands-free before check in and after check out, the onsen; the confortable futon beds. the lounge downstairs, with the terrasse and the hammocks.
Really cool place. The living room was filled with board games, musical instruments, a computer, and good music; In the garden a hammock. Possibility to wash and dry clothes. Really good breakfast (European way). Clean rooms and bathrooms. Very close to the most interesting area. Young and English speaking staff.
I loved the hippie vibes here! There is lots of communal areas for the guests to mingle and there is a beautiful garden with a hammock! Sadly no deer ventured in whilst we were there. Curry and soup is also provided. Be warned - many bars and restaurants close early here so this was appreciated after a late check in! The availability of an onsen that you can hire by the hour was an added bonus too.
Wonderful service and friendly host. Holiday home is a separate accommodation with enough room for us 3 adults and 2 children. Hot shower and lovely outdoor area. Heaters kept the place toasty and warm
The location is brilliant as it is a bit up the mountain we enjoyed great views and as it is a bit of the tourist places this lent that it was also very quiet. The hotel is very clean and the staff is friendly. The private bath which offers an wide view of the shire and the sea. also in the evening when the tourist have gone the island is almost deserted which give it a very special atmosphere
I loved staying in a traditional Japanese hotel . We were given yukatas / robes to wear around the hotel . Very relaxing . Lovely free bar on rooftop with views to the torii gate .
Great place to sit at sunset . Amazing breakfast . Went out of the way to provideVegetarian breakfast for me . Enjoyed the onsen .
The hotel was expensive but offers a great experiment and the luxury to enjoy Miyajima on the evening, without the crow and enjoy the sunset and sunrise on the island. To room was huge and very clean, the bed very confortable.
The hotel have a whole floor dedicated to well-being, with a salon, onsen, exterior pool, rock bath, karaoke room... That you can access anytime on the opening hour. They have also kimono at disposition at the entry, a little shop on the 1st floor.
2 min walk to the ferry terminal, oyster and beer on sale at the hotel entrance (what a welcome!), Fabulous Onsen (looks newly renovated), less than 10 min walk to the Grand Torii gate. Tip: grab a bento from the Omote-sando shopping street and have a sunset picnic overlooking the Grand Torii gate.
