Typically in permanent or semi-permanent camps, these private tents/yurts are a great way to rough it while staying glamorous.
Great location close to center en kasbah. Very beautiful superior appartment with a nice balcony. Breakfast in the room. Very friendly host who made a reservation for us for a nice excusion to the Marsala salt pans. Romantic sunset dinner! Good suggestions for restaurants in town. I had a delicious cous cous with fish (red shrimp!) and fish broth in a restaurant called Donna Franca.
It was a superbly done conversion of what is called in Italy a "super attic" or room built on the roof of a building. The room had tasteful North African design features, since the building is in the Casbah or Arab quarter, now the main tourist area. It opened on two terraces with panoramic views of the city and sunset. And we heard the Moslem call to prayer from the nearby mosque! We had chosen to come to Mazara for the Arab flavour so that was great.
Loved the roof terrace, great place to watch the sunset with a drink. The flat was clean and well equipped. The owner was very helpful - quick to respond and lots of advice on where to go and what to do in the area.
