The room was spacious and clean as was the ensuite. The food was beautiful, we had curry and rice for dinner and a quaint English breakfast of toast, marmalade and eggs. The soft juices served on arrival and at breakfast would be enough to make me want to return.

We loved the quiet location of this affordable riverside villa, among the rice paddies. Only a few minutes stroll to a main road with lots of tuktuks and buses to take us to major sights, restaurants and shopping. Spacious, clean rooms with comfortable beds, on demand hot water, satellite tv, good wifi and electric kettle. Delightful owner Hashan prepared delicious low sodium breakfasts and dinners for us at a reasonable cost. He was exceptionally helpful in meeting all our needs, including laundry, cell phone repair, transfers, a tour of the ancient city, and a trip to view wildlife in the national park. Highly recommended!

A continental breakfast is available each morning at the homestay. Our host was very kind and friendly! He also helped us to arrange a tuktuk and wonderful guide for the ancient city. Breakfast was served very prompt and you could sit out in the garden to enjoy it. Large mineral water tank that we could use to fill our small bottles. Parking for a small car was very good, just right in the yard. And we could leave the car there after check out while we did our tour in the morning. After the tour, the host kindly offered a place in his lobby to rest before continuing our journey. The room itself was very spacious and had a nice towel rack. Air conditioning worked great and we had blackout curtains. Ensuite bathroom was clean and had good hot water and pressure. Toiletries were very simple (soap and shampoo) so would recommend to bring your own if you have a more extensive routine (facial wash, conditioner, shower gel, toothpaste etc.). As we were there during the low season, our host was doing some maintenance painting work around the house. Which is a great sign and he planned it in away to make sure it didn't disturb our stay. Thanks for the great stay! 10/10 would recommend!

We took some fantastic photos. The room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. It was close to the sacred city. I learned to cook seven delicious Sri Lankan dishes during the cooking class.
