The accomodation was beautiful ( designed eco friendly) , not an ordinary hotel , I would have liked to stay more but I had to achieve my trip in China. I will be back for sure and specially in that hostel. The staff was fantastic, welcoming .

The receptionist "Juuga(?)" was most polite, kind hearted and helpful; sending me various locations of spots to go (pagodas, flute reed cave, night markets, famous goose restaurant, lakes / elephant trunk hill) and helping me set up the Yangshuo cruise tour. I would not have enjoyed Guilin as much as I did had I not come to this hotel - I would've been clueless. I also have an extremely cut figure at the moment and am on a ketogenic diet, they prepared breakfasts for me as well to meet my needs, which was included in the price. The room was beautiful, cosy and warm.

In an area that has lots of tourists (almost all domestic Chinese), they can take guests on bike trips or hikes to places that no one else visits. Ask them to take you on the half hour climb up to the old Qing Dynasty bandits lair in a cave high above the surrounding countryside, or to one of the ancient villages in the area. So much to see and do in the area, with some of the finest scenery in China.
