Pleasant, knowledgeable staff, wonderful breakfast, comfortable room with private bath, idyllic country views, several types of sauna and an outdoor pool included in the fee, e-bikes available for rent-- all added up to a top notch experience. I e-biked to a lake and explored the surrounding area on 1 day, and e-biked to Salzburg on a different day. There's a conveniently located bus stop for a bus every 30 min (except Sun) if you prefer public transportation. I found the public bus was similar quality to a US excursion bus and safe late at night. There's a free app that is worth downloading.

A recently renovated aparthotel in Hallein and within 17 km of Hohensalzburg Fortress, the salt townhouse features a shared lounge, comfortable allergy-free rooms and free WiFi. It is located 18 km from Kapuzinerberg & Capuchin Monastery and provides a lift. The aparthotel has family rooms. Room was exceptionally large in our case (4 pers.) which made it a nice place to relax in. The additional facilities that were offered (fridge, washing machine, dryer etc.) were a wonderful touch and the cleanliness of the entire hotel rounded of the experience perfectly. We didn't need the 'dog-station' at the entrance but found it to be a wonderful touch. The downstairs lounge was a wonderful place to relax as well.
