The hotel is rebuilt from an old family house. It has amazing views of the Hohenwerfen Castle - both day and night. The rooms are clean and spacious and very nicely decorated. The bathroom was large. Chocolates were presented in the rooms. We were greeted upon arrival with a very fine glass of wine and a nice conversation with the owner. The atmosphere was homey and welcoming. The breakfast was one of the tastiest and freshest breakfasts of any we've experienced in our many travels. Highly highly recommended.

Family-run since 1654, Hotel-Gasthof Maria Plain enjoys a quiet location surrounded by meadows and forests, only 250 metres from the pilgrimage church of Maria Plain and a 10-minute drive from Salzburg. Free WiFi is available. The view is fantastic with a view of Salzburg and the mountains, area around the hotel is nice, breakfast is nice even if the selection is not as large as some other places. We really enjoyed our stay.
