Located in the centre of Eugendorf, a 15-minute drive from Salzburg, Salzburg Hotel Holznerwirt occupies a historic building dating back to 1390. Guests benefit from a modern spa area and a traditional restaurant. Pleasant, knowledgeable staff, wonderful breakfast, comfortable room with private bath, idyllic country views, several types of sauna and an outdoor pool included in the fee, e-bikes available for rent-- all added up to a top notch experience. I e-biked to a lake and explored the surrounding area on 1 day, and e-biked to Salzburg on a different day. There's a conveniently located bus stop for a bus every 30 min (except Sun) if you prefer public transportation. I found the public bus was similar quality to a US excursion bus and safe late at night. There's a free app that is worth downloading.

Set in Sankt Gilgen, Apartments z‘Haus is a recently renovated accommodation, 32 km from Salzburg Central Station and 32 km from Mirabell Palace. There is a private entrance at the apartment for the convenience of those who stay. The apartment also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. Teens rated it 5 stars and they are picky! Absolutely lovely place-looks brand new and stylish. Lots of room, comfortable and clean. Great balcony and views. Washer in bathroom. A fan would have helped dry clothes faster (since we only had one night) but the host so kindly dried my things that were still damp in her personal dryer. Fabulous hosts. So helpful and generous and gracious. made our stay just wonderful and we were sad we only had it for one night! St. Gilgen also was a wonder charming little town with probably the best restaurant of our 12 day trip through Bavaria area.
