Great hostel/hotel. Pool was so nice, especially after walking all day. Owner's son chatted with us, and he was friendly and gave us the background on the ranch. What a historic and comfortable place to stay.

The hotel has an excellent restaurant. The suckling pig is a must. A young waiter, with knowledge of English, very attentive. The receptionist Carmen, who also served us breakfast the next morning, is fantastic. I hope her name is Carmen. I even wrote it down, to thank her, and then lost the note. Especially a wonderful person. Also Elvis, who was unobtrusively at his service every time. Two people for every compliment. The rooms are large and tidy.

Everything was great!! You can’t never find the accommodation with this price and quality. Also at night, it’s very calm and peaceful. Slept very well. Dona Paula was really nice and supportive. Even though I can’t speak Portuguese well, but I understood that she wants to help her guests with her maximum effort. Exerior of building might seem to old or in construction, however inside of the hotel is fine. Bath tub was really good to take a rest. Breakfast was simple but full enough for my caminho. Muito obrigado Dona Paula.

We received a warm welcome from Raquel upon entering her relaxing sunroom. Our spacious room was well appointed including top of the line bedding affording us a comfortable, peaceful sleep. Raquel prepares a delicious, hearty, healthy breakfast including fresh orange juice made from orange trees on the property. Miguel offers suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. He kindly made reservations for us for a tour at Alianca Underground Museum nearby (not to be missed). The spa town of Luso is close by as is Bussaco Palace now a hotel situated in the National Forest another place not to be missed. In line with the hotel one can visit the historical Carmelite Convent. In the forest, we walked to the Fonte Fria (cold spring) waterfall through a magical trail lined with flowering calla lilies and azaleas. The Palace hotel offers an afternoon tea at 3:30. From Torres da Vila you can plan a trip to the beach or enjoy a relaxing swim at the private walled property of the Vila. We enjoyed meeting Raquel, Miguel and their sons Francisco and Sebastiao. Do not miss an opportunity to stay at beautiful Torres da Vila. You'll be glad you did and will be treated like royalty.
Luso (Near Mealhada)
With free parking available on site, you can easily explore the area after researching nearby attractions via wireless internet. Upon your return to the villa you can treat yourself to a drink at the bar or order in room service.
