Casa do Xico This place beats ANYTHING we have seen in the so-called villas of Tuscany, and easily leaves such places in the dust with regard to quality. There is not a single aspect of this property to find fault with - from the designer elements throughout the spacious house, to the fantastically equipped kitchen with its cooking Island and the wonderful garden and pool. And of course we have to mention Isabel. Her charm and style fill the whole place and the warm friendly reception of this hostess is astounding. I cannot remember EVER being asked by a hotel or villa on leaving "what could we do better?" The answer - nothing!

The house is extremely spaceous, comfortable and cozy, having all you need for an enjoyable period of holidays with a big group or family. The pool is small but has enough size for kids to play and refresh (even grown up ones, if aiming to only refresh themselves; it's deep not lengthy). There is a portable/ small barbecue and plenty of space to BBQ in the garden. There's also a nice orchard with plenty of fruit trees. The bedrooms has good sizes and the 3 WCs (2 of them you can also shower) are very handy. It's a very calm location/ street where you can hear the birds and the neighborhood church bell while you drink a tea reading a book by the pool in the garden ;) We really had lovely and resting days. It's also in a great location to get to know the north of the country (specially Braga and Guimarães - a must seen places!)

Modern house and furnishings, well layed out with views towards the valley and the vineyard with a big beautiful fig tree by the pool. Hosts are very helpful and accommodating.

If we could give this place more than ten stars, we would. José, the guesthouse owner, went out of his way to make us comfortable, including bringing us into town to a recommended place for dinner and more. The guesthouse is located in a beautiful part of Portugal, and the guesthouse itself is exceptional. Everything we needed was there - hot showers, spacious interior, fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, well thought through interior, and availability of a pool with waterfall feature and outside seating to take in the sunsets.

Amazing experience. My grandparents stayed at this wonderful historical house one night, and they spent around one hour talking about the place, the beautiful gardens, the delicate and special decoration... They also mentioned that the bed, sheets and towels were really high quality. The manager seemed to be incredibly nice, but the greatest was apparently the breakfast. They usually go to four or five starts hotels so they fact that they remarked how good it was, how complete and greatly done is quite something. They will definitely stay there again soon, and I might as well do so.

Volleyball court, football court, tennis rackets to use. Pool available 24/7. Lots of animals in the farm. Lovely to disconnect in the nature.
