We like to hike so it was a good base for hiking in the park. We cooked for our self ,(we took the room with a kitchen).there is not other options in this village. It's very quite .

We loved the location of the house. The interior walls are made of granite which makes the house fresh without the need of air conditioned. Also the house is quite spacious. The hosts had a basket with honey, cheese, and coffee waiting for us. The kitchen is well equipped with all it is needed for a conformable stay. The location allows easy access to all hiking trails of Serra da Estrela. One of the best hiking trails starts very near the house and also gives access to a very nice river beach. If you are traveling with pets, the house is also the perfect spot.
For those on a budget, these cheap and cheerful hotels still have a lot to offer, with most offering WiFi and convenient locations. Popular with backpackers, many properties can be found in central locations and include comfortable rooms with private or shared bathrooms. You’ll also find a number of options which feature a 24-hour front desk and luggage storage.

Whether you will like it or not, this accommodation as well as the housekeepers are extraordinary. Very traditional rooms in an old house. Excellent location at the edge of a small village in the mountains, just next to a rushing mountain brook.
NB: We had booked Casa do Ponte but got a room in Casa da Ribeira. Likely of minor difference, as both the houses stand next to each other, look very similar like and are run by the same landlords.
Our room was pretty large and had a balcony, but...
