The staff were very lovely and welcoming, the cottage was cozy and it was so nice just being surrounded by big green pastures and no noise!

Leah is an exceptional and friendly host. Everything was spotless and comfortable. It was a cold night with a frost in the morning but the heat pump warmed the room perfectly and we were very comfortable. Breakfast was varied and more than sufficient. We like a quiet location and Hopwood is the quietest we’ve ever stayed in, even quieter than home. We will be back.

Good value for a budget motel in a handy location for a 1 night stop-over. At short notice, we needed to break our journey heading south via Palmerston North to Otaki, and the motel and Taihape were well placed for that. Facilities were basic but clean and comfortable, and as we were instructed to leave dishes for staff to clean, the lack of a kitchen was not a problem.
For a small town location was excellent within walking distance of town easily. Parking at Motel was plentiful and as we were there for a car event and had a trailer they were happy to fine us a spot within Motel to park it. Although very dated it was freshly painted and in good condition and was very clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. Bed was excellent.
Location was excellent as stop off from Wellington before continuing our journey north next morning . Easy to find , very clean , bed comfortable and good restaurant just down the road .
