Ometepe
Finca la Magia is a jungle hostel on a small organic farm located just outside San Ramon, 40 km from Moyogalpa.
Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant, serving breakfasts, snacks, smoothies and meals, all freshly-made made from organic ingredients.

Food was amazingly made by Delfa, their nica chef. Who made Vegetarian dishes with farms ingredients and using fire in a typical stove. I totally recommend to have all the meals you can, you’ll love it. We enjoyed a volcano Concepcion tour with a young guide named Josias, who showed us that wonderful landscape. Also the reception helped us to get a scooter for 25usd, a nice way to go around the island. The chef daughter made a surprise birthday cake for my girlfriend, which made us a felt like home. Finca La Magia is the perfect spot for privacy and natural surroundings. No internet coverage but a decent wifi at the restaurant.
Ometepe
Situated in Ometepe and only 3.8 km from Maderas Volcano, Restaurante El Escondite features accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. This bed and breakfast provides a garden as well as a bar.
Papua New Guinea
Most comfortable bed in Nicaragua - maybe even the most comfortable after 1.5+ years of travel. Room is nice and clean. Bar drinks are reasonably priced. Staff is great. Interesting and worthwhile to stay on this part of the island away from the tourist hordes and get a feel of what the island used to be like before mass tourism. Close to waterfall hike so you can start early and beat the heat.

Had a great stay at La Gloria. Calm place in a remote and extremely beautiful location surrounded by greenery just in front of the lake. Great spot for sunset. The food at the restaurant is very good too, highly recommend

The setting and surroundings are lovely with the cabins and rooms in pleasant gardens. Merida is quite remote and peaceful. The range of activities offered was good, we particularly enjoyed the kayak on Rio Istian. The food was tasty and freshly prepared with generous helpings. Our room was clean, with daily cleaning offered. This place had lots of potential and if you are wanting to stay somewhere remote and away from the crowds then it is both.

This hotel is so relaxing and such a special place! Maykel and his family make you feel so welcome and taken care of. I stayed in the upper room with an amazing terrace overlooking the lake. It was comfortable and peaceful. I was able to organize a private kayaking tour as well as schedule an hour massage on my terrace! I enjoyed staying in this area of the island as it was more remote (close to San Ramon waterfall) and I found it interesting to explore around Maderas volcano and see the local’s way of life. Do note that if you rent a scooter, the roads on the “Maderas side” of the island are gravel/rock. Use a LOT of caution while driving in this area! Or spend a bit more and rent an ATV for added safety. Highly recommend staying at The Jungle when visiting Ometepe.
Mérida (Near Ometepe)

The location is super nice! Every evening you can watch the sunset over the lake. Also the food in the restaurant is amazing and for the free breakfast you can just choose from the menu and have a juice or another drink with it. The staff is super helpful with arranging taxis, scooter rentals, kayak tours etc. Would defenitely recommend this hostel!
