The host and owner of the lodge Nicolas is very nice and helpful with organizing hikes on Mombacho volcano. The lodge is truly in the midst of the Mombacho Reserve - we were able to observe a sloth for several days as well as howler monkey every day - and offers a great view from a tree platform and has a really nice space to stay and relax. The food is very good as well.

Our stay was outstanding! Great staff, they made us feel at home right away. My partner was a bit ill when we were there and they took excellent care of everything and were flexible with breakfast- and check-out times. The breakfast was exceptional including fruits and a traditional dish that varied every day. The room itself was spacious with an extra bed, AC, and bathroom. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood just outside of the city, a 10 minute walk to the city center. The bus station for busses to Rivas is just two blocks away.

Very quiet place in the middle of nature. Staff overwhelmingly friendly and helpful. Excellent food, fresh juices, herbs and salads and of course fish from the lake. Just relax, take a swim in the lake or the pool, enjoy the sun setting behind the slopes of Mombacho volcano, and see it being illuminated by the rising sun next morning. Have a cocktail, and go kayaking around neighboring isletas.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beautiful Secret Cottage in Granada. There is such a warm and friendly atmosphere throughout the hotel and the whole staff was so helpful and welcoming, especially owner Liam and concierge staff members Martin and Steven. It is clear that so much care and thoughtfulness went into making this a very special place, on all levels. Staying at Secret Cottage in Granada was a true highlight of our trip.
