Nice unit. Right in front of the beach. Comfy beds. Clean bathroom. For wifi u can hang out at the office for better reception. The beach is well maintained. Breakfast is sufficient. U can go snorkeling, bicycle ride, hiking. Kg Genting is on the quiet side of Tioman so expect a very chill and layback environment here.

The location is exactly as mentioned, right on the beach. The room is spacious and clean. With the restaurant (Mama's Foodhouse) next door, we had no worries about getting food. Some more it's tasty. Apparently it's well recommended by everyone and rated mostly 5* on google review. Staying at Home Away gives us priority to have a slot (pre-order) because the restaurant always busy especially for dinner. With a young daughter, it makes our life easy. Overall great stay, food and family time. Highly recommended.

If you are planning to visit Tioman Island and are looking forward to the underwater scenery you saw in the Nemo movie, I definitely recommend this accommodation in Genting Village. The reason is that the sea in front of the x-recter accommodation is specialized in snorkelling and is incomparable to the sea in front of other villages. This is not a tourist spot like Paya, but a quiet, beautiful village where local people live in peaceful harmony and is not crowded with tourists as well. Host Yee has underwater maps in his brain derived from his long experience, and seems to be a wonderful instructor and host who can not only help with snorkelling and free diving, but also heal people who are afraid of the sea. While our family was there, we saw one of the most powerful and unforgettable sights which we have never experienced before. During the advanced snorkelling session with host Yee and his lovely mother, I was able to see a sea turtle from half a meter distance. Following Yee's guidance, we carefully approached the sea turtle and were able to touch its back shell avoiding its mouth. Circling around us were many sharks which appear to be as long as 1M. In addition, there were puffer fish groups, eels nestled between the rocks, and colorful, pretty fish and corals. To be honest I've seen the Nemo fish so many times during snorkelling that it felt ordinary compared to other special fish. Above all, I think I have never seen such a magnificent, colorful and beautiful coral area in my life. It felt like an extended version of the Nemo movie that actually exists. It felt unreal and so extraordinary that it felt bigger than the movie itself. Next, let's talk about his accommodation. In short it is not a large-scale luxurious resort, but he and his family who run the accommodation are very efficient and they did not cause any disturbance so that we did not feel any inconvenience during our stay.

A naturally beautiful place. The staff are friendly and professional. It was our first trip to Tioman for my husband and I, and we loved staying at The Station. The amenities were sufficient for a short stay. If you love a village vibe, The Station is a perfect place. The water activities (6 hours of snorkelling at various locations and lunch by the beach)were just fantastic. We made friends with our neighbourhoods, which makes the trip even more meaningful.

I was supposed to stay for 8 nights, ended up staying for 11 nights, 12 days. And still I wish I could stay even longer. It's a place that I wish only I could know, but it deserves to be shared by many other cool people as well, I believe. :P All the aspects you would consider when choosing an accommodation - especially as a budget traveler - have exceeded my expectation. Clean enough, super safe, the fresh water system for washing after the beach time is well maintained. Various meal options at the dining, from local food to western menu. However, the best thing about this place is this the staffs and friends around there. Another thing that I loved about the Tioman Cabana is that it strongly encourages you a sustainable travel. No single use plastic or paper straws at the dining (though reusable ones are available upon request), you'll see what they value when you get there. Bring Coral-protecting sunscreens. Eat less meat(vegetarian meals available there). Pick up trash but nothing from the beach. Cabana is the perfect place where you could get the sense of belonging to the nature and ocean. Live musics on Saturdays (maybe it changes), and they play good music, it is amazing how they jam. Don't miss it. :)

Rooms are very clean. Each room has a view of the cove. Wifi in the lobby/dining area was excellent. Fantastic staff! The beach offers easy access to the reef and snorkeling was possible for anyone of any skill level. If you enjoy nature, this is a great place to stay. There is abundant sea life (sea turtles, baby sharks, sting rays and lots of tropical fish species) and jungle inhabitants (monkeys, giant squirrels, lizards) etc.

The room was small and basic, but you know that when you're booking it. It's clean, the location is perfect and the staff is very helpful and friendly. I really liked the little garden where you can sit down with some friends to chat, have drinks and eat some food. They also have bicycles and motorbikes for rent!

10/10, beautiful! remember not to use white lights in the beach at night --> turtles nesting! beach shack has a suoer relaxed atmosphere, beautiful and cozy a-frames/bungalows and everyone working there was very friendly. delicious food in good variety from the restaurant and from mr. nemos coffeeshop beside. bonus feature: non-smoking area. did not work all the time, but i love the attempt and thoughts on non-smokers. stayed there whule ramadan, so it was emptier/quieter. thank you, beach shack :)

Very nice and clean place. Good location, 2 min till best beach of Tekek and close to marina. Nice restaurant with acceptable prices. And very friendly, helpful and open-minded owner.
