Lovely little hideaway. The owner kindly arranged for a tuk tuk to collect us from the train station.The cottage was so homely and well equipped with everything you might need. We loved the veranda where you could relax and enjoy the quiet view down to Ella. It was really cool to see the trains coming along the line as well ( there aren't that many trains!) The owners wife cooked us dinner and breakfast - both meals were traditional Sri Lankan and really delicious. This property is a real gem if you like an authentic and home from home experience.

I cannot say enough good things about our stay at Nimal Rest Inn. From the moment we arrived, Nimal, the owner, went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us, even though we made a last-minute booking. His warmth, kindness, and hospitality made us feel right at home. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to Ella town, where you'll find some of the best bars and restaurants in the area. Ravana Pool Club is only a 10-minute drive away, making it a convenient spot for both relaxation and exploring the town. The rooms were immaculate, comfortable, and well-appointed. One of the highlights was the fully stocked mini-fridge with drinks, beer, and more, something I've rarely seen, even in five-star hotels! It was such a thoughtful touch that truly enhanced our stay. Nimal’s wife is an incredible cook. We only had breakfast during our stay, but it was perfect both days. The meals were so delicious that we regretted not trying more of her cooking. Initially, we planned to stay for just one night but ended up extending our visit to two nights because of the exceptional hospitality we received. Without a doubt, I’ll be returning to Nimal Rest Inn whenever I'm in Ella. This place is a gem, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming, comfortable, and memorable stay.

Walking to the main central area of Ella is via a short cut thru the train tracks. Am experience one should not missed. Lovely views and quiet area. Suited for adventure walkers who doesn’t mind the uphill. Otherwise, a fast tuktuk ride can take you to the accomodation within about 10 minutes. This can also be organised with the owner should you wish. Traditional breakfast was fab ! Staff were lovely. The Pekoe trail is worth a try and can easily be accessed without a need for a walking guide.

The friendliest people and the best breakfast we had in 4 weeks in Sri Lanka! It was always lovely to chat with the owner family. The room was simple but with everything you need. The accommodation is in walking distance to the center and to the Little Adam's Peak hike.

The location of this property was good as it was only a five minute walk down the train track to the main town, although at night it is very dark. The room was nice and clean and the views were stunning. A great place to stay and explore Ella.
