The boss is excellent, cos the weather is super cold. He asked whether the room is enough warm. And he arranged the car to pick me up from Benevento station to his hotel. It costs 200 euro for return trip, very considerably. Otherwise, I have no idea how to get to the hotel, cos it’s Saturday, car rental completely is not opening during weekend. So thankful for his help. 🥰

At first, when you enter, you come from the wild hills of Irpinia, and you find the majestic alley and the structure. It is a joy for the eyes. Then we had dinner, with excellent value for money, and tasted salumi, the first dish, and more. They explained to us that their speciality is their extra virgin olive oil made by them and served in a cup to be tasted. It was delicious.

It was a very clean and fully equipped apartment, the hosts were so nice and helpful. Great location for outdoor activities including water activities. The village was so authentic. The hosts are tour guides and we had great water activities with them.

Well that’s a great questions I would have to say the only positive point about this property was the well kept garden, the rest is for sure about 40 years too old and in need of up keeping unless you like to pay high prices for and absolute ridiculous place. The apartment was the cleanest place we stayed, great kitchen, lovely spotless bathroom. Really nice outside patio area for relaxing with hammocks. Lovely lady owner was so welcoming. 5 mins walk to bars restaurants, very nice town to wander around. We extended our stay because it was such a great place to stay

The location was perfect for our needs- quiet, parking available but best of all the hosts were very very accommodating and helpful! They took the time and effort to bring us to the places that would help us locate long lost relatives. The kitchen was clean, and we were able to boil water, put our groceries in the fridge. The place was huge, and it felt like home. Comfortable beds and relaxing atmosphere. Thank you to our wonderful hosts!

I usually don't write any reviews about the places I stay at, but this one at Casa Philomena was exceptional! Rarely have I experienced such warm hospitality, kind-hearted hosts or passion to make a guest feel welcome. I nearly wasn't able to go to Lioni, so my lovely host offered to pick me up from the bus station in Avellino for a little fare and even cooked a home-made pasta lunch with regional products for me <3 Afterwards, we ventured out for a little trip to the local waterfall. The house/upper floor itself is amazing, cute and exactly what I expected from a well-kept place in charming Irpinia. Thank you, Ms Filomena & Mr Gustavo, for everything and giving me the best and most fantastic Lionese experience thinkable!
