We had a 3 bedroom cottage that was spacious with a very well equipped kitchen. The cottages are spaced well apart and are quiet. The cottage has some nice safety features such as baby gates at the top and bottom of the stairs and handrails in the main floor bathroom. The cottages are on the edge of Killarney, a few minutes drive to Muckross Abbey, Muckross House and the Killarney National Park. You can see sheep grazing in the field adjacent to the cottages.

Highest recommendations for the Torc Hotel and its wonderful staff. The location (Killarney) is an excellent launching pad for tourists, such as myself, who enjoy trekking throughout the southwestern Kerry and Cork peninsulas (Dingle- 25 min to Castlemaine; Iveragh- 30 min to Kenmare; Beara- 30 min to Knockduragh; as well as Sheep’s Head and Mizen Head- 2 hours to each point) but do not want to have to unpack and repack to move to a new location everyday. It offers ample, free parking and is just outside of the busy town center, which is a plus for me as it provides a quiet retreat. The hotel has full breakfast service for its guests and serves meals 7 days per week, even off-season. This latter is especially convenient as during off-season, it can be very difficult to find an open restaurant in the aforementioned areas. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. Generous pours on beverages. The hotel is very quaint (still uses actual keys for their rooms) but the rooms have been updated with modern bathrooms and fixtures (everything is shiny and clean). The beds are luxurious (very comfortable mattresses and comforters). The wait staff (both breakfast and restaurant/bar detail) are super friendly and attentive. I’ve been a B&B-er guest in Ireland for many years, but for the above reasons, I think I’ve found a home away from home with the Torc Hotel. I will definitely be back every year!

The owners are amazing, they always made sure we had all we needed and they gave us tips on what to do, what to visit, where to eat, etc. Breakfast is delicious and was the best part of our day! They offer multiple options and they are all delicious. There is enough parking space for everyone and the location is easy to reach.

Muckross Riding Stables offer a scenic location within Killarney National Park and close to its lovely lakes. This property has horses and ponies on site to view and interact with.
The property also arranges cart trips around the park. Killarney has a beautiful setting, ideal for hill walking and cycling.
The hosts/hostess!! They were wonderful. So kind. The grounds were very kid friendly. I had 5 grandchildren with us and they all agreed MuckRoss was their favorite!
