The host, Des, was extremely pleasant and friendly, most interesting to talk with, helpful and caring. The place is very special, crammed with antiques, breakfast is served with silver dishes as it was in Des' mother time. The room was spacious and quiet. There is no parking problem in the street near the hotel as the Pay and Display is in effect only from 11:30 am.

I just loved our welcome, the comfort of our room and the wonderful breakfast the following morning. The situation is remarkable, with views across the lakes and the mountains. It was so good I will always return when I'm in this area again. The hostess, Noreen, is marvelous and so helpful with information of the surrounding area. A fantastic place to stay in the heart of Connemara countryside but within easy driving to Clifden. Clifden is a real gem with great live traditional music, restaurants and shopping. My only regret is that I didn't have the time to stay longer. Well done Noreen. I really hope to come back some day.
