The Best part of this place is that it’s run by the owners, they do everything themselves : the cooking, cleaning, welcoming and even building the facility itself. So it was like having a friends in an eco-friendly jungle home. They were really caring and attentive and while I was there, people kept wanting to book longer and were sad when there was no more space. And I love that they care for the environment by having a water recycling system !

Spacious and plenty of room for the 3 of us. Location provides great views of volcano, along with the villages of San Juan and San Pedro. Always a welcome oasis to return to this retreat home after a day out exploring. We would find a different place to enjoy on the property. Very well taken care of and has everything you need.

this place was absolutely amazing. the manager is just so kind and will help you having your best time in San Marcos. The bed was sooooo confortable and just feel so goood sleeping in à such confortable place after backpacking and sleeping in dorms. the location is perfect just near the lake. there is free yoga and others sports activities offered by the hostel. this hostel feel like home, and I would have stay there forever !

Nestled into gardens befitting its name, Lush is somewhat of a sanctuary among the sanctuaries in San Marcos. It is fairly quiet and most of the guests respect the 10pm quiet-time. Our cave room was very atmospheric. I love the natural rock incorporated into its layout. The only downside of this is that the roof in the bathroom and doorways were painfully low. If you are above 6 feet tall I would advise choosing a different option. A bit more packing space for luggage and clothes would not have gone amiss either. Lush is on the edge of town by the nature reserve. It is nevertheless only a 4 or 5 minute walk from everything in the main strip. The Lush restaurant also has a great airy vibe. The food is quite expensive compared to some of the excellent lunch and dinner options available in San Marcos. Even considering that San Marcos is a fair bit more expensive than the other towns on Lake Atitlan.
