The apartment is in a unique position. Above a small farming community on an island within a lake, you have to walk over a foot bridge for the last 600 meters or so. It is surrounded by plants that pelicans nest in. They catch hot air and soar into the blue sky. Damn cool. Never seen anything like it. The island is walkable within 1.5 hours, but good shoes might be recommended. There are ruins from Greek Orthodox Monasteries there that are very cool. The host was always reachable on the phone and always had recommendations for us. We had an issue with the water (discussed below) but the host immediately provided us with bottled water and even refunded us the day we had the issue. We didn't need to ask! Very professional.

The location was also good, an easy stepping-off point for all activities on the Prespa Lakes. There were some very interesting sculptures around the property and bountiful birdlife.

We hiked towards isolated monastries, drove to much more touristy Lake Ohrid and enjoyed the wonderful nearby quiet beach. Really a wonderful place.
