Samuel and the staff were extremely friendly and responsive to our every need and communication was very good before our stay ensuring I was allocated a room that was suitable for my disability. Our apartment had a fabulous terrace with stunning views of the mountains. It was right next to the pool with distant views of the sea, which we could also see from the 3 windows in the lounge. The cleaning was of impeccable standard by a very friendly and polite girl called Dimitra, she was superb! We were surprised to find that cleaning was offered every day with sheets changed when necessary and fresh towels on our third day. The hotel was very quiet with respectful guests, you could hear road noise from the outside terraces but not from inside the room but even outside it was not intrusive.

Within a 5-minute walk from Georgioupolis beach, Sofia Apartments features self-catered accommodation with free Wi-Fi and balcony overlooking the garden. Taverns and shops are within 50 metres.

Brilliant loacation, host amazing , spotless , helpful , been a few times and will be back , she is so popular, so have to book early , one of the best places for us to stay as it is very traditional , lots of the hotels now in Georgioupolis as all inclusive and not for us, Sofias has been there a long time and love it .

The breakfast was amazing with a variety of selection to choose from. Martina was extremely helpful in providing us and giving suggestions on where to visit. She was friendly and polite to interact with. I wish every person I encountered was open and non judgmental.

Although it is 7 km from the beach it is a superb location with beautiful sea views, large clean pool. We had impeccable support from the lady. Villa is equipped with everything needed for a family. Outside by the pool there is a terrace with table and barbecue where you can spend the afternoon in peace. Worth the 10+ and we will be back with great pleasure.

absolutely unique place, apart from the fantastic location and beautiful views, clean rooms, great atmosphere. We were so well taken care of on site that it was a pity to leave, delicious breakfast. Not only the location to visit the Rethymno region is perfect, the facilities with restaurant and swimming pool, and the room overlooking the mountains ( a real treat in the evening) are excellent. However, what makes the real difference is the family atmosphere: Angelica and her mother take really good care of you, and you feel like a cousin invited to a home. The food is made with local materials and we would recommend you try the Fennel pie! Breakfast keeps you going for most of the day, brunch style !

I am slightly conflicted in writing this review. This beautiful village gains its attraction in part because it is not very well known and because it retains the spirit of a mountain village in central Crete from an earlier age. And long may that last. However, in honesty I must also say that this accommodation in the centre of the village is a remarkable place - our suite was so beautiful and well equipped, and the garden so well cared for. The pool is really lovely. We had a jacuzzi in our bedroom but there is also a lovely comfortable lounge and kitchen. This genuinely a really beautiful place.
