Very friendly and smart dog and cat on the territory, our 2 kids got really attached to. Location is good, close Kalyves beach, Kaurnas lake with turtles, folklore museum of Gavalochori. The outside swimming pool is with stunning views into the country side and the sea. The view from the villa topdeck is even more breathtaking, especially the sunrise. There are no other buildings crowded with people around (just one unoccupied). Totaly silent area.
It takes 10 - 15 minutes by car to the beach with plenty of tavernas and beach bars with sunbeds to rent (6-9€/set) or even for free (when you spent some money on drinks/lunch). Butcher, fish market, bakery, homemade honey, supermarket - within 10-20 min driving.
By foot to the beach it’s a nice 1-1.5 hour walk, use google maps to stay on pathways without cars. For the way back use the “train” to the sweet water lake and walk for 20 more min, or ask for a taxi - chceck the price (20€) before you ride.

We have travelled extensively, but this was one of the very best apartments my wife and I have stayed in. It was extremely comfortable, and the owners have thought of everything - it really did feel like a home from home. Everyone should visit villa archontiko! The villa is for 8 people, in exchellent condition, with a traditional touch and detailed oriented. The views are breathtaking and the location is in a small local village Asfakiou near Sfakia. Also the host welcome us with a big smile!!

Beautiful renovated house on a gorgeous location. In the middle of Crete. Close to the Imbros Gorge. The House has stunning view over the Askyfou Valley and you can enjoyed that view from the infinity pool on the top terrace. One 3 terrasses, following the mountain the house has is been built on. Inside de decoration is spot on and the house is full of history.
The room was spotless and the view from our balcony was fabulous. A couple of lovely hikes directly from the hotel. The taverna was open for tasty home cooked food.
Stunning elevated location. Peaceful and good quality, spacious studios. The family who run the rooms and taverna are really friendly and helpful and there are suggestions for hikes from the location.
A lovely family business, lovely people running both accommodation and restaurant. Ideal location for somebody wanting to explore Cretan inland rather than coast (such as myself). Nice little pool area to chill out after a day on the mountains.

The room was huge and spotless clean with great facilities and comfortable bed . But the view was absolutely breathtaking could sit on the balcony for hours just taking it all in . The pool was spotless and the food in the restaurant was delicious and really cheap . Would definitely recommend this place and i would love to come back
