We recently stayed at Kaliviani Traditional Hotel and were thoroughly impressed. The location is perfect, offering easy access to Balos beach while providing a peaceful atmosphere. The breakfast was a standout, with a diverse menu that catered to all tastes and exceptional service. Additionally, the cleanliness throughout the hotel was top-notch, making for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The view from our room was incredible offering sea views which was good as we found ourselves relaxing on the balcony every night admiring the view. The hotel is also very close to the beautiful beach Falassarna.
Ioannis was an exceptional host and went above and beyond to make sure our stay at Kaliviani was exceptional and smooth.
I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a great experience and most importantly amazing views! We will definitely be staying there again whenever we’re back in Crete. Best hotel in Crete we stayed in by far and we stayed at 5 different hotels including Kaliviani.

Ilona (who is managing the apartment) is always very responsive, polite and supportive.

It was just beautiful- so well designed and furnished.
Inside, very comfortable bedrooms, plenty of storage space and good bathrooms and showers. Air conditioning kept the temperature very comfortable when needed. The kitchen was very well-appointed in terms of of crockery, cutlery and glassware, coffee maker etc.
Outside, the pool was gorgeous and beautifully designed, with the flow of water ensuring a very clean pool in a very natural way. Plenty of shade to be found throughout the day. The gas barbecue was very good to have.
Ideally situated to explore the beaches of Balos, Phasalarma and Elofonissi. Niki was great, very accommodating and her animals are so friendly…cats and a dog.
Excellent place. Clean and cozy. Very good location - close to the best beaches. See view from the terrace where you can have dinner with the family. The host is very friendly and kind. You have everything that you need in the house. Free parking. Reccomend!
Loved this villa. Had a fabulous stay, good location, mini-market, bakery and taverna in the village just a short walk away, Maraciabo Restaurant a short drive (or 20ish min walk) - all excellent. A selection of food and wine on arrival an added bonus.
We arrived very late as the flight was delayed. Still Niki welcomed us warmly herself and even provided small breakfast as we did not have time to go to shop on the way. Niki and her family are wonderful people and they helped us a lot. Kids liked the pets around the house. Pool was amazing and very well maintained. Only 5 min walk to the nearest beach. We had a car so the location right next to the main road was excellent.
Villa was very spacious, and well equiped. Pool was clean and lovely to dip into after a long day. Patio area had a barbecue. Villa Theta is in a remote location so car is a must. There is a great bakery, taverna and mini-market located 2 minutes away by foot. Host was very responsive. We've had great time there.
The location is ideal if you are looking for a quiet place and you want to feel the spirit of Greek countryside. Very hospitable host. The apartment was clean and fully equipped. Good location for exploring western Crete (close to Elafonisi, Balos, Falasarna beach).
